In June, melons and fruits are fragrant. Recently, the reporter walked into the professional cooperative of Hongshuo horticultural farmers in Huaibei City and saw that the greenhouse was green and melons, fruits and vegetables were growing gratifying. "these greenhouses are not only the 'cash cow' for our Shitai village farmers to get rich, but also the best witness to increase agricultural efficiency and increase farmers' income." Huang Zunyi, the leader of the co-operative, looked at the fruits and vegetables that were about to be harvested, and his face blossomed with joy.

In the 1990s, the industrial structure of Shitai Village was the traditional planting mode of "one wheat and one bean", with an annual per capita net income of about 1000 yuan. In order to improve the economic income of farmers, Huang Zunyi, then secretary of the party branch of Shitai Village, wanted to break through the traditional planting pattern and explore a way to grow cash crops such as vegetables, melons and fruits.

"at that time, people were afraid to try new planting patterns and varieties. I had to take the lead in planting in order to convince the common people." In 2002, in order to try out new grape varieties, Huang Zunyi introduced more than a dozen kinds of grapes from other places for trial planting at prices ranging from 10 yuan to 200 yuan per tree. "only through trial planting can the new variety be proved to be suitable for local promotion. Only by giving tangible benefits to the masses can we be regarded as successful. " Huang Zunyi said.

In 2006, Huang Zunyi retired from his position as secretary of the village branch and devoted himself to the adjustment of the industrial structure with his love for the rural cause. In order to industrialize planting, he took the lead in setting up a professional cooperative for Hongshuo farmers in Huaibei City in 2007, which engaged in the cultivation of melons, fruits and vegetables in the greenhouse, and carried out unified seed purchase, unified fertilizer, unified technical guidance for farmers who joined the cooperative, and contacted sellers to reduce the risk of retail planting. In order to enable citizens to eat fresh and inexpensive vegetables and fruits, a cold storage room has been built at the base, which can hold nearly 100 tons, making it more convenient for retail investors and growers in the village to store, and ensure that the fruits and vegetables planted are "authentic."

Huang Deli, a villager of Shitai Village, was one of the first batch of members to join the cooperative. Huang Deli had been working outside before. Under the influence of Huang Zunyi, he returned to his hometown to start a business in 2003 and transferred 60 mu of land to develop greenhouse vegetables. He planted Shanghai green, ungluten kohlrabi and other best-selling Huaibei and Suzhou vegetable markets, with an annual net income of more than 200,000 yuan.

Today, the cooperative has more than 500 members, of which more than 70 are of a larger scale.

Through land transfer, today's Shitai Village has more than 1000 mu of early spring snow peaches, more than 30 mu of greenhouse grapes, and more than 400 mu of fruit and vegetable science and technology park. In 2011, the park was identified as a "national vegetable standard garden". Farmers in Shitai Village have embarked on the road of prosperity by planting greenhouse melons, fruits and vegetables, with a per capita annual net income of more than 10,000 yuan.

Huang Zunyi, a retired village cadre, showed the elegant demeanor of a Communist Party member with his practical actions. "in order to enable more villagers to embark on the road to prosperity, I am willing to make use of the base and give full play to the waste heat, so that the villagers can live a happy life relying on scientific farming." Huang Zunyi said confidently.
