In Xiahe County, Gansu Province, there is a special breeding base for yellow cattle. Since 2012, it has provided jobs for people with disabilities around them to help them shake off poverty and become rich. As the head of the base, Pang Gaping is also a disabled person.

Pang Gaping was born in a poor local peasant family. After primary school, he dropped out to support his family. At the age of 15, in order to support his family, he stepped on the train to work in the south.

In 1996, an accident left him with a permanent disability in his right hand. No factory was willing to hire him, so he had no choice but to go home. Wanting to make a living, he took out all his savings from migrant workers to buy a few cattle and began to graze at home.

In 2012, Pang Gaping's life gradually improved by his own efforts, but there were several disabled families like him in the village. watching their families get into trouble, Pang Gaping came up with an idea: he must lead the poor villagers out of poverty and become rich.

He saw the opportunity and went to many places inside and outside the province to inspect greenhouse farming. In May 2012, the Gayinshan cattle breeding Cooperative, which covers an area of 4 mu, has a registered capital of 1.88 million yuan and half of its members are disabled households, was officially established.

At the beginning of the establishment of the cooperative, due to the majority of its members are disabled, coupled with the lack of management and sales experience, has been in a state of loss.

Pang Gaping, who was difficult to support, also had the idea of giving up, but he clenched his teeth when he saw the painstaking efforts and efforts made by friends with disabilities for the cooperative.

At that time, Pang Gaping was both a buyer and a salesman; he had to manage the warehouse and help carry it. He gets up at more than 3 o'clock every morning, prepares feed for the cattle, and is busy until after 10:00 in the evening.

At this time, the Damai township government extended a helping hand to the cooperative, coordinated various departments to give support, and slowly turned the business situation into a win. After more than a year of development, the cooperative is gradually on the right track.

In 2013, the local government also gave priority to the "Shuanglian" loan of 1 million yuan for farmers, allowing cooperatives to expand the scale of farming.

Today, the cooperative has become a leading enterprise in Damai Township and a poverty alleviation employment base for the disabled in Xiahe County, with an annual output value of more than 1.5 million yuan.

When Pang Gaping became rich, he did not forget his fellow villagers. As far as possible, he absorbed the disabled people around him as members and paid them a handsome dividend every year.

Led by Pang Gaping, cooperatives signed long-term forage planting and acquisition contracts with more than 60 farmers and herdsmen in surrounding villages, providing stable income for more than 90 farmers and herdsmen, and gradually formed a business model of "farmers + cooperatives + enterprises".
