The 2016 China Qidong cauliflower Festival kicked off in Qidong County.

Enjoy yellow flowers, pick yellow flowers, taste cauliflower …... Recently, the "2016 China Qidong cauliflower Festival" kicked off in Qidong County. Nearly 10,000 local residents and tourists from surrounding areas experienced the strong flavor of yellow flowers in Qidong County and felt the cauliflower culture that locals called "getting rich". At the opening ceremony of the festival, Qidong County was awarded the license of "hometown of Chinese cauliflower" by China vegetable Circulation Association.

Qidong County is the original producing area of cauliflower in China, with a planting area of 160000 mu and about 400000 vegetable farmers, accounting for more than 70% of the country's output. In recent years, Qidong county party committee and county government regard the development of cauliflower industry as an important work of accurate poverty alleviation, using cauliflower industry to increase farmers' income, promote rural eco-tourism and promote the county's accurate poverty alleviation work. The county successively issued reward and subsidy policies to guide farmers and enterprises to develop e-commerce through online sales, and also invested to buy 150 dryers for free use by vegetable farmers in the main producing areas (9 townships), guiding vegetable farmers to reform the traditional and fragmented processing mode. At present, cauliflower has become a pillar agricultural industry in Qidong County, with an annual output value of more than 1 billion yuan.

It is reported that the cauliflower festival will last for a week, and local activities such as cauliflower tasting meeting, development summit forum, cauliflower picking competition and photography competition will be launched one after another.
