Shandong Dongying post-90s female college students set up a family farm with 200 mu of land and a bumper harvest of melons and beans.
In July 2015, Ma Chenxiao graduated from Hunan Women's College as a design major. After several twists and turns in finding a job, she came up with a bold idea-to set up a farm and go back to the village to start a business. As soon as this idea came out, many people in the village laughed at her as "futile", but her father, Ma Shiyu, was willing to help his daughter give it a try. At the end of June this year, the 200mu "Chenxiao Family Farm" founded by Ma Chenxiao had a bumper harvest in the first year, with a yield of more than 8000 jin per mu, and some of the potatoes have been sold. Sweet potato seedlings in the second season have also been rooted, and the fields are full of hope. This venture not only made Ma Chenxiao earn his first bucket of gold after entering society, but also led to idle labor in the village, and even neighboring villages began to follow suit.

The family farm carries Ma Chenxiao's entrepreneurial dream.
The founder of Chenxiao Family Farm is Ma Chenxiao, a 25-year-old post-90s college student from Xiliu Village, Li Magpie Town, Guangrao County. Referring to the original intention of starting a business, she said, "at that time, entrepreneurship was only a concept in my mind, and I didn't know exactly what to do. After telling my father my idea, considering that the state now has a policy to support agriculture, I finally decided to set up a farm."
Although she was born and raised in the countryside, farming is still a stranger to Ma Chenxiao, who has been studying abroad all the year round, and she doesn't even know how to do a lot of farm work. Fortunately, my father has more than 20 years of experience in farming, but he is not familiar with the current situation of agricultural products in the market, and father and daughter are confused for a time. In August of that year, Liu Jianbin, a village secretary, happened to come to the village. Ma Shiyu suggested that his daughter go to the secretary for help.
"when I heard that I was going to run a farm, the secretary also felt that the idea was bold and worried that I, a girl who had just graduated, might encounter a lot of difficulties. But seeing that I had made up my mind, he took me to Zibo, Shouguang, Jinan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other places to understand the current situation of the development of family farms. Taking into account the storage of products, sales and other factors, we finally decided to choose a more capital preservation of potatoes and sweet potatoes to try to grow, first look at the effect. " Introduced by Ma Chenxiao.
200 mu of land with a bumper harvest of melons and beans
As the saying goes, "reap what you sow, reap what you sow". Ma Chenxiao's farm has planted both melons and beans. During the wheat harvest in June, the potatoes on Chenxiao Farm first had a bumper harvest.
"because most of the villagers were not very optimistic about my entrepreneurial project, many people were not happy when we contracted the work we did door to door, including 40 mu of potatoes and 160 mu of sweet potatoes. Relatively speaking, the output of local potatoes per mu can reach about 8000 jin, which is still considerable. At present, all potatoes have been harvested in the first season, and more than 30,000 jin of potatoes have been sold, and the rest are also stored in the cellar. On the other hand, sweet potatoes are planted twice a year. The first season can be harvested in a month or so, and the second season has just been planted. " Ma Chenxiao told reporters, "because it is the first year, the cost of fertilizer is relatively large, and due to lack of experience, there are many loopholes in management." At the end of May, half a month before the potato harvest, I found sick potato plants. At that time, I thought it was caused by mold, so I took the medicine according to mold, and the result was not good. I collected samples and went to the agricultural capital store for consultation. Only when I asked that it was a kind of insect pest, it improved a little after the symptom, but by that time I had missed the best growing period of potatoes, and it was still a bit delayed. "
The reporter learned that the 200-mu farm founded by Ma Chenxiao invested about 500,000 to 600,000 yuan, which is not a small amount for a recent graduate, thanks to everyone's help and support. "in addition to the support from his family, most of them were put together with the help of relatives and friends. The village secretary also helped to apply for interest-free loans and coordinate the land. My father provided technical support, and I was in charge of research and ideas, and we worked together to make the farm run smoothly. "
Drive idle rural labor to get rich together
After Chenxiao Family Farm was founded, it also brought up the idle labor in the village and had a way to make money. Liu Jianbin, first secretary of Xiliu Village, said in an interview that before that, there were more idle labor in the village, mainly middle-aged and elderly people in their fifties and sixties, and then housewives who were out of work. In particular, the middle-aged and elderly groups, because of helping young people pick up their children, cannot travel far away, and even if they do not have children, because they are older, almost no factory will recruit them, except in the busy season, basically idle at home.
Manpower is needed for planting seedlings, spraying, weeding, harvesting and so on on the farm. The Chenxiao family alone will certainly not be busy. The farm will hire farm workers to help from time to time, and the idle labor in the village is naturally the first choice. This gives everyone a way to make money and drive everyone to get rich together. "after the Chenxiao family's farm was set up, idle labor was allowed to find a job on the doorstep of the house, which delayed neither picking up the children nor making money. Now, many people in the village come to the village committee for consultation, some want to grow vegetable sheds, and some want to set up farms for farming, thus expanding the villagers' choice of getting rich. " Liu Jianbin said.
Referring to the current difficulties facing the farm, Liu Jianbin believes that the biggest problem is the problem of funds. In order to expand the scale of the farm and build a high-temperature greenhouse, there is not only a lack of financial support, but also a lack of high-profit project choice, as well as professional and advanced technical guidance. "when you run your own farm and become a boss, you must bear hardships first, constantly learn from them, don't be afraid of failure, and boldly grope your way forward. At present, the main purpose of the farm is to accumulate contacts, first open the market, plant it, and open up a wide range of markets so that the goods can be sold smoothly. " Ma Chenxiao said.
