At noon on July 7, Yahuang Village, Daomei Village Committee, Jiuzhou Town, Haikou City, the weather was a little hot. Meng Xuying, a 25-year-old mentally handicapped, and her husband, Huang Guangjun, sat next to the disabled Huang Guangxing and began to chat. "after the chicken shed and rabbit shed are built, we will participate in breeding and cooperate together." Huang Guangxing's words brought full confidence to Huang Guangjun and his wife.

Physically disabled and determined: beekeeping makes a name for itself

Huang Guangxing, 58, is a thin man from Poxiu Village Committee of Jiuzhou Town, Haikou. In an accident in 1995, his left hand was disabled. Although it brought inconvenience to life, it did not affect his creation of a better life at all.

In Huang Guangxing's breeding base, more than 100 boxes of bees are placed neatly. He discussed the skills of beekeeping with his disabled friends.

"I have kept bees for 36 years and have never sold a drop of honey in the market." Huang Guangxing said frankly that near the town of Jiuzhou, everyone is very familiar with him, and every time he produces honey, customers come to their own door to buy.

It is not easy to raise bees and produce good honey, which is also very technical. Huang Guangxing remembers that before 2008, he kept bees on a small scale and produced low yields. "I won't take it. Why can't I keep the bees well?" Huang Guangxing secretly made up his mind to learn the skills of beekeeping and often discussed and exchanged views with farmers who came to Hainan from the north to keep bees.

The technology is more and more in place, and the production of honey is getting higher and higher. "taking 50 cases of bees as an example, if the weather is fine, the flowers are good, and the bees are well raised, they can produce more than 2,000 jin a year." Huang Guangxing said that beekeeping has become the main income in recent years, giving him the money to send his two daughters to college.

In Huang Guangxing's view, as long as you work, you can live a good life even if you are disabled.

Back-feeding the society: helping the disabled to start a business together

The development of aquaculture is the road that Huang Guangxing chooses to stick to. In 2010, he set up a cooperative with friends with disabilities. Seeing that beekeeping can improve their lives, people with disabilities around them have turned to Huang Guangxing to learn from beekeeping. And he, also quite enthusiastic, gives technical guidance. Today, in addition to him, the cooperative has also attracted 14 local disabled friends to join in the development of farming.

"moving queen bees is a technical difficulty for many disabled beekeepers." Huang Guangxing said that whenever someone asks for help, he always gives free help and often gives a gift to the queen bee.

On the 7th, Huang Guangxing came to Yahuang Village, Daomei Village Committee of Jiuzhou Town, to see the bees raised by disabled Meng Xuying and her husband. Seven or eight cases of bees are placed in a corner, which has also become an important source of income for the severely disabled Meng Xuying family. "Meng Xuying has a difficult life. As a friend, try to help as much as you can." Huang Guangxing said.

In addition to beekeeping, Meng Xuying's family raises eight sheep. Huang Guangjun, Meng Xuying's husband, said, "the scale is still a little small. I always wanted to expand and develop other aquaculture and increase income, but I suffered from a shortage of funds."

At the beginning of this year, the Provincial disabled Persons Foundation provided 100000 yuan in aid funds to Huang Guangxing's team, bringing them the dawn. At present, Huang Guangxing, leading the disabled members of the cooperative, is building chicken sheds and rabbit sheds.

At a chicken base in the woods, the pheasant heard the whistle and ran back to its nest. "there are 1,000 pheasants raised by the co-operatives, and the next step is to expand the scale and raise native chickens when the chicken sheds are built. The total scale of raising chickens has reached 10,000. " According to Huang Guangxing, the next step is to raise rabbits.

When the construction of aquaculture facilities is improved, Huang Guangxing said that he will mobilize disabled members of cooperatives to further discuss ways of cooperation, take the form of shareholding, develop aquaculture together, and increase income.
