Chen Xiaolan, an aquaculture farmer in Beiquan Town, Shihezi General Farm, has developed from an ordinary aquaculture worker in an aquaculture farm to a farming area of more than 280mu, with an annual production of 243tons of fish and an output value of 3.4 million yuan.

In the autumn of 1987, Chen Xiaolan contracted more than 50 mu of fishing ponds in the third farm of Shi General Farm and began to engage in aquaculture work. Because she did not know much about aquaculture technology at that time, she did not contribute less, but her income was not high. Apart from supporting her family, she had little annual income left. In 1996, the farm was restructured and the fishing pond was bought out. Chen Xiaolan ran all over her relatives and friends and cobbled together to buy a 100-mu fishing pond. Suffering from the bitterness and bitterness of not knowing scientific aquaculture technology, she secretly made up her mind to learn aquaculture technology and master advanced experience and methods of scientific aquaculture. She successively bought "Technical knowledge of Aquaculture" and subscribed to books and newspapers such as magazines on aquaculture, and studied assiduously as soon as she had time. Through continuous reading and learning, she gradually mastered the scientific feed preparation, fish feeding and fish disease prevention and control. In the spring of 1997, in order to learn advanced aquaculture techniques, she raised more than 10,000 yuan to go to Guangzhou to learn lessons. During her more than ten days in Guangzhou, she not only learned the advanced aquaculture, fish breeding, fish disease prevention and control techniques in the north and south, but also felt the spirit of Guangzhou people's hard work and continuous innovation.

Chen Xiaolan thinks and does so to expand the breeding area and scale. After several years of capital accumulation, Chen Xiaolan invested a lot of money in 2004. on the basis of newly built fishing ponds, she bought several abandoned ponds for renovation, and the farming area was expanded to more than 280 mu. Over the years, whenever she had the opportunity, she often went to the mainland to study and exchange, made a wide range of friends, and brought back local new varieties and new technologies. With the continuous enrichment of experience and knowledge, the new varieties introduced were constantly improved and carefully managed, and the experiments continued to succeed. In 2012, Chen Xiaolan's 280mu fish pond was farmed with an annual output of 27 tons of crucian carp, 10 tons of carp, 36 tons of silver carp, 110 tons of grass carp, 40 tons of Wuchang fish, 22 tons of yellow crayfish, 0.6 tons of Penaeus vannamei, etc., with an annual output value of 3.4 million yuan and a net profit of 920000 yuan.

In recent years, the aquaculture market is not very prosperous. Chen Xiaolan has added Loach breeding and other projects on the basis of aquaculture varieties in the past. There are more than 30 aquaculture varieties, and he has responded calmly with the management strategy of "people without me, people with my essence." fish production, output value and profits are still at the top of the hundreds of aquaculture farmers in Beiquan Town, Shizongchang.

In order to enable more aquaculture farmers to embark on the road of prosperity, in 2014, Chen Xiaolan took the lead in registering the Beiquan Town Tianyu farming Cooperative. She recommended the good technology and varieties that had been tested and practiced to the farmers and taught their own experiences and lessons to others. Today, led by Chen Xiaolan, the number of members of the Tianyu farming cooperative has grown to 32, leading to 38 jobs.
