The sky-high price of fruit adds new members! Romantic Ruby, a specialty grape from Ishikawa Prefecture, has sold for a sky-high price of 73000 yuan, Japan's Sankei Shimbun reported on July 7. Why is this grape so expensive? Editor, let's talk to you.

Only heard of tens of thousands of wines, never heard of grapes with a price of tens of thousands of yuan.

Today, a piece of news in Japan refreshed the editor's understanding of grapes. Romantic Ruby, a specialty grape from Ishikawa Prefecture, has sold for a sky-high price of 73000 yuan, Japan's Sankei Shimbun reported on July 7.

Can such an inconspicuous bunch of grapes be worth 73000 yuan? The editor expressed serious dissatisfaction.

As the saying goes, for every penny, no matter how high the price is, there should be something real, right? So, what's so good about it?

According to reports, "Romantic Ruby" is a variety that took 14 years to develop in Ishikawa County. Its sweetness is more than 18 degrees and each grape weighs more than 20 grams before it can be shipped.

What is the concept of sweetness above 18 degrees? According to Baidu encyclopedia, sweetness is a relative value, which is usually based on sucrose as the benchmark. The sweetness of 10% or 15% sucrose solution is 1.0 at 20 ℃, and the sweetness of other sugars is compared. The sweetness of more than 18 degrees means that the sweetness of "romantic ruby" is 18 times that of sucrose water.

According to public reports, the sweetness of cantaloupe produced in China can reach 16, so this red grape with a sweetness of 18 is really unusual.

2016 is the ninth year of the launch of Romantic Ruby, and a total of 20,000 units are expected to be shipped by late September.

In view of this, the output is not high, no wonder it is so expensive.

Xiaoxi Yukimaru, the buyer of "sky-high" grapes.

The buyer of the grapes is Koishimaru, the owner of a large supermarket in Nizaki, who said the grapes will be displayed in the store in Nizaki and entertain customers free of charge.
