A few days ago, in a large chili field in Mengling Village, Baizhang Township, Xiangzhou County, Wei Shuifen, a poor family in Mengling Village, and more than 10 villagers were busy picking chili peppers, laughing and laughing flew out of the fields from time to time. In Tian Tou, Wu Ji is busy packing and loading chili peppers for sale in Guangdong.

It turns out that Wu Ji is not only a villager of Dengzhan Village, Zhongping Town, but also a deputy to the National people's Congress of Zhongping Town. This year, he planted more than 500 mu of chili in Mengling, Xinzhai, Nadan and other villages in Baizhang Township and asked the villagers to help manage them, increasing their income. In addition, he also planted more than 150 mu of chili peppers in Zhongping Town, which was also managed by the villagers. Among these villagers, more than 20 households are poor.

When it comes to growing chili peppers, Wu Ji is like a family treasure, what line pepper, rice pepper, refers to the sky pepper, say it is reasonable. A few years ago, Wu Ji, a migrant worker, saw that chili peppers had a good price on the market. after research, he found that chili peppers were adaptable and a "short, flat, and fast" project to get rich, so he gave up working and went home to start a business. I didn't expect this one to succeed. In recent years, with the help of the county agricultural department, he solved the problem of planting technology, and obtained the loan support of the rural cooperative bank, the pepper industry is getting bigger and bigger. This year, he planted more than 650 mu of chili peppers in Baizhang Township and Zhongping Town. "this year, the output of chili peppers is about 350000 kilograms, and the sales are expected to be about 2.8 million yuan." Wu Ji said that although the production of chili peppers has dropped greatly due to the weather this year, the income from growing chili peppers has not decreased this year because the price of chili peppers was as high as 16 yuan / kg in the early stage and 6-8 yuan / kg in the later period.

Wei Shuifen said that now Wu Ji invites more than 60 villagers in the village to pick chili peppers every day, and she and more than 10 poor families in the village have also joined the ranks of picking chili peppers. "because of the hot weather, we start harvesting at 6 o'clock in the morning and rest at 11:00. From 3: 00 to 6: 00 in the afternoon, you can pick more than 60 kilograms every day. " Wei Shuifen said that Wu Ji calculated their wages according to 2-2.4 yuan per kilogram, and her daily income was about 120-150 yuan.

Chen Juming, a poor family who picked chili together that day, said that in the first half of this year, from helping Wu Ji plant chili to finishing collecting chili, her income was estimated to be about 5000 yuan. In addition, she rented 3 mu of land to Wu Ji to grow chili, with a rent of 1000 yuan per mu, and the income from growing chili alone was 8000 yuan. Chen Juming also said that Wu Ji will have to hire workers to grow other crops in the second half of the year, and they will still have an income when they come to work.

"it's no fun for me to be rich alone. People who are rich are really rich." When it comes to future plans, Wu Ji said that after the chili crop is harvested, he will use the farmland to grow selenium-rich rice, and next year he plans to buy shares in the land to invite poor families to participate in the construction of 500 mu greenhouse to grow chili peppers. "I am responsible for capital, seedlings, technology and sales, while the villagers are responsible for management. A poor household can manage 10 greenhouses. If the income of a greenhouse is 5000 yuan, a poor household can earn 50, 000 yuan a year. " Wu Ji said confidently.
