"Xanadu hides deep mountains, with loess flowers and fruits on the slopes; poor and backward people have wisdom to get rid of poverty and lead the way to wealth." A jingle handed down by the villagers of the Triangchong Group in Huangheying Village, Maoying Town, Ziyun Autonomous County is a compliment to Xie Jiagang for leading the villagers out of poverty and becoming rich.

In the past, the Triangchong group was poor and poor, and it was one of the most remote village groups in Maoying town. it took the villagers two hours to go to market comprador daily necessities. Today, the villagers of the Triangchong group have been lifted out of poverty, with an annual income of nearly 150000 yuan for wealthy families and 50, 000 yuan for ordinary families.

Behind the wealth of the villagers of the Triangchong Group, there is a person who plays an important role. He is Xie Jiagang, a villager of the village. Since planting 70 mu of fruit trees and peach orchards in 1990, the planting area of Xie Jiagang's economic fruit forest has grown to more than 200 mu. Under his influence and drive, all 34 families in the Triangchong Group have embarked on the road of growing wealth through fruit groves.

In 1990, Xie Jiagang, who was born into a poor family, made a decision that surprised the villagers of the Triangchong group. He used all the contracted land to plant peach trees.

"since the peach seedlings were planted, my family has no longer sowed the fields and planted rice seedlings." Xie Jiagang said that he can learn whatever he specializes in. In order to manage and protect Taolin well, he put all his energies into the management of Taolin.

At first, Xie Jiagang just planted peach seedlings, and the management and protection technology was ignorant to him. While planting and learning, he often went to other places to study, and invited his master to give him technical advice many times. After a long time of exploration and study, Xie Jiagang's fruit forest planting knowledge is getting richer and richer.

"for a long time, the villagers of the Triangchong group mainly grew traditional crops such as rice and corn, and they did not understand Xie Jiagang's sudden decision not to grow rice and corn, and even laughed at them." Wang Qiguo, head of the Sanjiaochong villagers group, said that in those days, it took a lot of courage as a farmer not to grow crops but to grow fruit forests.

In 1994, the first batch of peach trees planted by Xie Jiagang had a high yield and earned more than 20,000 yuan that year, which was already a good harvest for the economic situation at that time.

"at first, there was a lack of planting skills and no knowledge of pruning, thinking that the more luxuriant the branches, the more fruit they would hang." Xie Jiagang said: after investigation and study and summary of many years of practice, I have basically mastered the planting techniques of peaches, pears, plums and other fruit trees.

When Xie Jiagang gradually got rid of poverty and became rich by planting economic fruit forest, the villagers of Triangchong group gradually eliminated their doubts about the development of economic fruit forest, and some villagers gradually participated in planting. Slowly, the thinking of villagers gradually changed from traditional agriculture.

Xie Jiagang said that the most important technique for planting fruit trees is the pruning of branches. If the branches are not pruned well, they either hang more fruit but small, or the fruit is big but less, and if they want to be big and hang more fruit, it depends on how to prune them.

After 2000, with the improvement of management technology, the output of Xie Jiagang's peach orchard increased year by year, with an annual output of more than 20,000 jin, and the annual income of a single peach forest was more than 60,000 yuan. "while I plant peach trees, I also plant fruit trees such as bayberry, plums and pears." Xie Jia just said.

In 2010, with the encouragement of the government's policy of supporting industrial restructuring, Xie Jiagang planted the second batch of 60-mu economic fruit forest. This time, Xie Jiagang not only used 20 mu of land to plant bayberry, but also planted honey plum, pear, ice crisp plum and other fruit trees.

After Xie Jiagang's third batch of economic fruit forests were planted again in 2013, all the contracted land and hillsides of his family were planted with fruit forests.

This year, the bayberry planted by Xie Jiagang produced a high yield for the first time, picking more than 10,000 jin of bayberry, with an average wholesale price of 8 yuan per jin and a harvest of more than 80,000 yuan. Peaches are expected to receive more than 50,000 jin, and the lowest wholesale price in the market is 1.5 yuan per catty. It is no problem to earn 80,000 yuan. Xie Jiagang is convinced that in three years' time, the total annual income of his fruit forest will exceed 500000 yuan.

"the whole Triangchong group has been influenced by Xie Jiagang. Since 2010, 34 families in this group have been liberated from the idea of growing traditional crops, and fruit seedlings have been planted on land and barren slopes. As the villagers did not understand the technology at the beginning of the planting, Xie Jiagang provided them with technical guidance and services. " Wang Qiguo said: in the current Triangchong Group, the minimum planting of fruit forests is no less than 30 mu, and this year, for example, the lowest income of fruit forests alone is not less than 30,000 yuan.

Today's Triangle Chong, green mountains and green waters everywhere, every household is a small white building, what a beautiful picture of an ecological home!
