Red-hearted dragon fruit holds up the dream of becoming rich
"the texture is mild and the taste is fragrant, which is the impression of many people on dragon fruit. But for me, it is not only a delicious fruit, but also the golden key to get rich. " Wei Juhua, chairman of the Lukang vegetable Farmers' Professional Cooperative in Anyi County, said.
In Luofeng Village, Xinmin Township, Anyi County, a dragon fruit planting base has been established, and this base is jointly built by Wei Chrysanthemum and two village groups. When talking about her entrepreneurial history, Wei Juhua described it as "very rich": from 2003 to 2005, she did aluminum alloy business in Yangzhou; from 2006 to 2007, she sold stainless steel materials in Jinan; after returning to Anyi in 2008, she also sold wardrobes. It was not until 2013 that Wei Chrysanthemum began to establish a professional cooperative for Lukang vegetable and fruit farmers in Anyi County.
Wei Juhua told reporters: "many young and middle-aged workers in our village choose to go out to work, and the fields in the family are transferred to others." From the very beginning, I took over all these lands and planted them with rice. With the development of 'farm music' in recent years, many city people come to the countryside to pick fruit. I think this is a good opportunity, so I decided to join hands with the two village groups to build a fruit planting and picking base. "
Wei Chrysanthemum made up her mind to start growing fruit, but what kind of fruit should I plant? In 2014, Wei Chrysanthemum and other shareholders went out for several visits and finally decided to plant red dragon fruit in Luofeng Village. Planting dragon fruit in Anyi is considered by many to be "whimsical", but Wei Chrysanthemum does not think so.
"Red heart dragon fruit has high nutritional value and good economic benefit." Wei Chrysanthemum said that during the investigation, they found that the red dragon fruit had few diseases and insect pests in the growth process, could hardly use pesticides, could be planted simply and saved manpower, and generally had a life span of more than 15 years, so it was a kind of efficient fruit that was put into long-term harvest at one time. "after the dragon fruit is ripe, it can continue to grow on the branches for a period of time, and after it is picked, it can be stored for a few months, so it is very resistant to storage." She said that the most suitable temperature for dragon fruit growth is 25 ℃ 35 ℃, below 10 ℃ or higher than 38 ℃, and the dragon fruit will stop growing, and Anyi County with a pleasant climate happens to have this climate.
It is the first step that costs troublesome. Because Wei Chrysanthemum has never planted dragon fruit, we don't know much about its varieties and cultivation methods. In order to gain a better understanding of the taste of red dragon fruits grown in different environments, Wei Chu-Hua has taken her members to Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Guangxi, and has also been to Taiwan to "worship teachers and learn skills." After much consideration and comparison, they decided to introduce Zhejiang Huolong fruit seedlings.
Everything is ready to settle down. In February 2015, after the greenhouse of the dragon fruit base with an investment of more than 2 million yuan was completed, the first batch of fruit seedlings officially went to the ground. "in the process of planting, we adopted modern technology for grafting and transformation, and also made use of Greenhouse Effect in a steel greenhouse to increase the accumulated temperature in the greenhouse and create a climate for dragon fruit cultivation, creating favorable conditions for its growth." Said Wei Chrysanthemum. In November 2015, the ripening of the first dragon fruit was undoubtedly a great encouragement to Wei Chrysanthemum. "We shared that dragon fruit among a dozen of us." Although everyone only ate a small piece, but the heart is very sweet! "
With the maturity of Huolongguo, the number of cooperative members has grown from 11 to 54, with a registered capital of 5 million yuan. "at present, our scale is not very large, so we may focus on the development of the picking industry in the past few years." For the output value of dragon fruit, Wei Chrysanthemum confidently calculated an account: "the dragon fruit is planted in the first year, it can hang fruit in the third year, and the yield per mu can reach about 2000 jin." Now the market wholesale price is 15 yuan per jin, the output value is 30000 yuan per mu, excluding labor, fertilizer and other costs of about 8000 yuan, the net income per mu can reach 22000 yuan, then the total income of 100mu red heart dragon fruit is 2.2 million yuan. "
For the future of the base, Wei Chrysanthemum is also full of longing: "We will integrate dragon fruit cultivation, ecological tourism and farm tourism, and the base will become an important display window for fire dragon fruit scientific research and rural tourism culture in the whole city and even the whole province."
