Talking about the duck breeders in Huanren, everyone can't help thinking of one person, that is Gong Zaifu in Liuhe Village, Huanren Town. For more than 20 years, the story of his persistent duck farming has moved many people. "you must persevere in doing things. Only by persevering can you succeed." Recalling his entrepreneurial process, Gong Zaifu can't help but be filled with emotion.

In 1997, under the encouragement and guidance of the government's policy of enriching the people, Gong Zaifu, a party member of Liuhe Village, took the lead in buying 500 ducklings and resolutely embarked on his own journey to start a business and become rich. It is well known that ducks belong to gregarious birds with high self-immunity, but diseases among the same species will be transmitted to large groups of ducks in a very fast time, causing extremely serious economic losses. In the early days of starting a business, due to the lack of mature breeding experience and technology, Gong Zaifu was often at a loss when he saw that the duck was sick. Sometimes he stood and observed the duck's condition for two or three hours at a time, or even couldn't sleep all night and his throat was hot. I couldn't speak for days.

Gong Zaifu clearly remembers that one year, on the third day of the Lunar New year, in order to see a doctor for sick ducks, he went to Anshan area alone to consult a duck expert who could cure duck disease, because at that time the restaurants were closed and he stood alone on the side of the street, hungry and anxious. It took him several miles to find a snack shop that was doing business, and the enthusiastic shopkeeper soaked him a bowl of instant noodles before he could get a bite to eat.

After more than 100 days of breeding, the first batch of ducks finally began to lay eggs. In order to promote his duck eggs, in the winter, Gong Zaifu alone pushed a wheelbarrow to the streets to sell duck eggs, in order to save some money, he was not even willing to buy a hot steamed bread. Sometimes, even if only 10 duck eggs are needed in a restaurant, Gong Zaifu insists on delivering them to the shopkeeper within the agreed time. "honesty is the most important thing in doing business. People think highly of me before they buy my duck eggs. I must not betray everyone's trust." Having been questioned and rejected by others many times, Gong Zaifu endured it silently and never reasoned with others. After a long time, everyone was moved by his forbearance and strength, and gradually recognized his duck eggs.

Later, in order not to affect the quality of water around the duck farm, Gong Zaifu tried to raise ducks in dry land, and with the duck raising experience he learned from Anshan and Liaoyang for many years, he learned to mix duck feed manually and regulate the temperature in the duck farm according to seasonal changes. in this way, not only the feeding cost is saved, but also the ducks become stronger and the laying rate is much higher. Gong Zaifu has also developed the ability to pick up duck eggs in a duck pen within more than ten minutes, judge the duck's physical condition according to the duck's laying rate and eating condition, and immediately isolate the duck as soon as the disease is found.

In 2012, Gong Zaifu successfully applied for registration of Fuyan Duck Farm with the support and help of the party committee and government of Huanren Town, and rented nearly 200 mu of wasteland around Huquan Village. Today, the number of ducks has grown from more than 500 at the beginning to more than 8000, with more than 1000 jin of eggs a day and an annual income of more than 300,000 yuan, making it a famous "duck king" in the county. In addition to selling its products to major supermarkets, markets and shops in the county, it is also sold to Benxi, Tonghua, Kuandian and other surrounding cities. Last year, in order to expand production, he built a new duck farm and four pickling ponds covering an area of 20 mu, introduced the Salted Duck Egg production line, and started the sale of gift packaging brands, trying to sell the products to more distant markets.

"next, I'm going to plant some organic healthy crops on the surrounding wasteland, so that I can get some light from the big aquaculture industry!" Gong Zaifu pointed to a large piece of newly purchased land in front of him and told the reporter with a smile.
