In recent years, Wanlong Village, Shihao Town, which was once the "hard bone" of poverty alleviation in Qijiang District of Chongqing, has developed leisure agriculture by relying on the advantages of high altitude and good ecology, and realized the transformation from "corn village" to "flower town". The Huaba Camping Festival held in the village has brought comprehensive tourism income of 20 million yuan in the past two months.

Flowers not only feast the eyes of tourists, but also "drum" the pockets of poor villagers. Wanlong Village, Shihao Town, which was once a tough village for poverty alleviation in Qijiang District, Chongqing, has developed leisure tourism in recent years, relying on the advantages of high altitude and good ecology, and has realized the transformation from a "corn village" to a "flower town". Yesterday, the reporter learned from Bandung Village that the Huaba Camping Festival held in the village has brought comprehensive tourism income of 20 million yuan in the past two months.

From the Chongqing-Guizhou Expressway an stable toll station, along the Panshan highway patches of Gesang flowers, Persian chrysanthemum and sunflowers all the way to Wanlong Village, which is 1400 meters above sea level and is known as "Chongqing Shangri-La". This small village, which used to have only more than 20 families, is now a "flower town" with hundreds of farmers: each farmhouse has Chu Hong's outer wall, which looks particularly beautiful against the blue sky and white clouds.

Zhang Wenye, secretary of the party committee of Shihao Town, told reporters that Wanlong Village is bordered by Guizhou to the east, south, and west. A few years ago, transportation is inconvenient and industrial development lags behind. It is a well-known "corn planting village."

In recent years, with the popularity of leisure tourism, Wanlong Village has gradually shown its advantages: high altitude, cool summer, less development, good ecology, and forest coverage of 80.2%.

As the "hard bone" in the poverty alleviation of the whole region, the development of Bandung has been valued by the party committees and governments at the district and town levels. In the district, the roads connecting Bandung with the outside world are widened and oiled, and tourism companies are introduced to create four groups: Huaba, Li Gongba, Rose Valley, and Huahai Stone Forest. Five major areas are planned and built, including sports exploration, pastoral customs, lake leisure, health preservation and vacation, and cultural tourism.

"in order to make the 'Flower Town' worthy of its name, we connect and dress up various groups in the name of 'Flowers'." Zhang Wenye said. This year, Bandung Village has planted a large number of alpine roses, lupins, Persian chrysanthemums and sunflowers, using 1500 kilograms of flowers alone.

Now there is a sea of flowers inside and outside the scenic spot, and farmers are surrounded by flowers in front and behind their houses, and the "flower town" makes tourists linger. When the first camping season was held in 2014, the village received more than 90,000 tourists.

"now the higher the temperature in the main city, the more popular the tourism in Huaba." Li Mingtie, secretary of the general party branch of the village, said. Last weekend, two or three thousand tourists came to enjoy the flowers and camp. The colorful tents have become blossoming "little flowers" in the mountains, making the "flower dam" more worthy of the name.

The arrival of tourists has opened up a new way for the villagers to get rid of poverty. Wan Xuewen of the second Society was once a famous poor household in the village: his wife was ill, his son had not been heard from for several years, and he was unable to do heavy work because of his disability, so the life of the family was quite difficult.

With the development of Huaba Scenic spot, with the help of the local party committee and government, Wan Xuewen renovated his family's house and set up a farm to provide three meals for tourists. Since the Huaba Camping Festival began on June 18 this year, he has received more than 300 tourists and earned 4,000 to 5,000 yuan.

"now we are also building flower dams to enjoy our happiness." Zhao Fuqing, a villager in his sixties, said that because he was too weak to do heavy work, he never went out to work. Today, he transfers his family's 10 mu of land to the big corn growers in the village and works on his own. In addition to the land transfer income, he also has a monthly income of 1400 yuan.

With the "flower town" as the "center", many surrounding villages and even some villages and towns have also enjoyed the benefits brought by the development of tourism. Qiu long, a villager of Yangcha Village, Tatong Town, after the rise of tourism in Wanlong Village, rode tricycles to distribute rice oil and drinks to farmers on the mountain, earning 3,000 to 4,000 yuan a month.

According to incomplete statistics, at present, more than 30 farmers have sprung up in Wanlong village, and about 30% of the villagers in the village have eaten "tourist rice" directly, thus lifting more than 30 poor families out of poverty. There are more than 300 people in and outside the village, taking advantage of the east wind of tourism to engage in the transportation industry, earning a lot of money.

The development of tourism in Wanlong Village has also led to the development of more than 3000 mu of waxy corn, more than 10,000 mu of square bamboo shoots and more than 500mu of off-season vegetables.
