More than 20 years ago, Zhang Yongxiang, who graduated from high school, did not want to work hard in the farmland all his life like his parents. He has an honest personality, but he dares to think and do things in his heart.

For six or seven years after graduation, Zhang Yongxiang has been dealing with cars. He has repaired cars and engaged in passenger transport. "in the late 1980s, there were not so many cars on the road, and it was very fashionable to go to bumper cars at that time." Zhang Yongxiang earned the first bucket of gold in the car early in the morning and night, and opened a hardware store in Xiaojinkou with his brothers.

After going out for many years, Zhang Yongxiang had a broader vision. When he returned to his hometown to see the fields at home, he was thinking about how to make the land produce higher value. Zhang Yongxiang, who "returned to farmland", set up a flower farm in his hometown. The dragon fruit invested by Zhang Yongxiang in the first phase needs artificial pollination, and the fruit will crack as soon as it rains, which seriously affects the taste of the dragon fruit. Zhang Yongxiang cut down all the 15 mu of dragon fruit and invested in a number of new seedlings with the support of his brothers and sisters.

When choosing seedlings, Zhang Yongxiang hovered for some time between two kinds of seedlings: one sold for 8 yuan each and needed artificial pollination, while the other imported seedlings sold for as much as 100 yuan each, but did not need artificial pollination. Considering the late management and fruit quality, Zhang Yongxiang gritted his teeth and increased investment and chose imported fruit seedlings, which surprised him greatly.

New fruit seedlings do not need artificial pollination, saving labor costs; new fruit seedlings are cool and sweet, cold-resistant, can be put for half a month after picking (usually only 10 days), long fruit period, strong disease resistance. "many repeat customers say that my dragon fruit is the cinnamon flavor of dragon fruit." Zhang Yongxiang couldn't help laughing when he heard the praise from the consumers.

After years of operation, Zhang Yongxiang's Huolongguo base is getting bigger and bigger, with an annual income of more than one million yuan, and has been invited to participate in our city's agricultural fair many times.

During this period, Zhang Yongxiang also kept trying to expand the scope of industrial business. Along Huimin Avenue, a dragon fruit picking sign is particularly eye-catching. During the picking season, groups of tourists from the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macao come to pick fruit, and box after box of dragon fruit is carried onto the tourist bus. "now, I work with travel agencies to increase the sales volume and influence of the brand." Zhang Yongxiang applied for a trademark for his dragon fruit and set up a professional cooperative for Huizhou Shihong dragon fruit farmers.
