Recently, the author walked into a row of bungalows with colored steel sheds in Yunwu Village, Daguan Town, Nanchuan District, and came to Zhang Xinyue Snake Farm.

There is a dark red security door in each snake room, which keeps the room tightly closed. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never have thought that there would be a large number of poisonous snakes hidden in the security door.

Zhang Jing, the owner of the snake farm, opened the security door. The room was very dark with only one lamp, and the air was a little stuffy.

Approaching the snake room, waves of "wheezing" sound, Zhang Jing opened the curtain, cobras suddenly raised their necks, snakeheads spit out long letters to people, which made people shudder.

Start a business and aim at Cobra

In the past, Zhang Jing used to work in other places. A few years ago, Zhang Jing returned to Nanchuan and began to think about starting a business.

Once, she went to the snake farm of her relatives' house to see the freshness, and found some feeling.

"after seeing many cobras and understanding the habits of snakes, I feel that snakes are not terrible." Zhang Jingmeng made her dream of starting a business. She also learned that snake body is a treasure, snake skin can be used as medicine, snake meat is now very popular, snake venom also has great medicinal value.

As a result, she went to the snake farm in Taipingchang town to learn snake farming skills for more than half a year.

In February 2014, Zhang Jing invested more than 700,000 yuan to build Zhang Xinyue snake farm in an abandoned quarry in Yunwu village.

The cobra breed raised by Zhang Jing is the Vietnamese cobra, which introduced snake eggs to hatch on its own, and began to hatch more than 1500 cobras in June last year. Now there are 10 snake rooms and hundreds of snake beds, and at most there are more than 3000 cobras.

In the future, he will focus on the treatment of snake disease.

"Cobra is very delicate and fastidious in its diet," says Chang Ching. Small snakes have to be fed milk and eggs every day, and when they grow up a few months later, they have to take turns to feed meat such as chicken and quail.

Not only that, they also like to be clean. Zhang Jing changes the sleeping pads for all the snakes every 7 days. If they are not cleaned and replaced in time, some snakes will get sick and die.

In the course of practice, Zhang Jing fumbled out a culture method different from that of other farmers. Everyone else let the snake grow in the big room, but she lived in a small room for the snake.

"there are more than 20 snakes in one snake bed, and each snake bed is isolated." she believes that if problems such as disease occur in one snake bed, the snakes in other snake beds will not be affected.

While raising snakes, Zhang Jing learned the techniques of raising snakes, especially the prevention of snake diseases. Whenever a snake dies, Zhang Jing will dissect and examine its heart, liver, spleen, stomach and other organs to find out the cause of the snake's disease.

"snakes are most likely to get enteritis and skin diseases." Zhang Jing said.

Zhang Jing is a thoughtful person. She communicates with experts and professors on Wechat, learns bit by bit, and prepares to go to other places to specialize in the prevention and treatment of snake disease.

She told me that there are also many snake farms in Nanchuan. But there is still a deficiency in scientific breeding, especially in the prevention and treatment of snake disease, so she wants to develop in this direction.

Looking forward to making the villagers rich.

Hatching snakes is Zhang Jing's specialty. There are white foam boxes filled with fine sand in the hatchery.

"this sand must be a river sand cleaned by water. If it contains too much mud, the little snake will not hatch." Zhang Jing said that the hatching of small snakes is very fastidious, with a temperature requirement of 28 ℃ and a humidity requirement of 82%.

Today, Zhang Jing's cobra farming is on track. The largest cobra weighs 2.5kg and more than 2000 cobras have been sold.

At present, snakes can be sold for about 100 yuan per catty. Based on an average of 3 jin per snake, the annual output value of finished snakes in her snake farm can reach more than 900,000 yuan. At present, Zhang Jing's cobra is sold to some big hotels and restaurants in Chongqing, and the business is very good.
