Shandong Wudi: raise a grasshopper to shake off poverty and become rich
"the grasshopper will be out of the shed soon, and the order will come a long time ago!" On July 15, in the shed of Li Xin Village, Chewang Town, Wudi County, Shandong Province, Gao Pengju said.
Isn't the grasshopper a pest? Why are you still farming? When it comes to grasshoppers, Gao Peng goes on and on: "grasshoppers are a kind of organic food with high protein and low fat. Many feed manufacturers need dried grasshoppers to grind powder as additives. Moreover, my grasshopper eats forage without fertilization or medicine. Manure can also be used as organic fertilizer to increase soil fertility."
In his grasshopper shed, his eyes were black. "this thing looks inconspicuous, but the benefit is very high! Can support four crops a year, the shortest cycle is about 35 days, the longest is two months. " He said.
Gao Pengju said that he had heard that raising a grasshopper could make him rich. With the idea of giving it a try, he went to Weifang, Shandong Province in April 2014 to study and study. After returning home, a 100-square-meter arch shed was built and worked while groping. By the end of the year, the cost of building the shed was recovered, and more than 100 jin of eggs were harvested.
The success of the pilot test greatly boosted Gao Pengju's confidence. Last year, he contracted 1.5 mu of barren alkaline land in the north of the village, built 13 small arch sheds, fed grasshoppers with all-natural weeds and green vegetables, and planted precocious corn as backup feed. With the hard work of him and his wife, their net income reached more than 80,000 yuan a year, and the couple blossomed happily. Gao Pengju said: "at present, the market is not a problem. I am preparing to build my own cold storage, and I am also actively developing grasshopper sauce. In case the market is not good, there is also a new way out!"
He succeeded, and Gao Pengju did not forget his fellow villagers. This year, he took the lead in setting up a grasshopper farming cooperative in the village. he plans to build 100 farming sheds on 50 mu of wasteland in the north of the village, so as to absorb all the poor households in the village. those who have the conditions can build their own sheds, and those without conditions can come in to work, so that the poor families in the village can be lifted out of poverty within a year.
Wang Changliang, party committee secretary of Chewang Town, said that grasshopper farming is green and environmentally friendly, with simple feeding and high output value, and it is a short-term and quick project to get rich. This year, 200 greenhouses will be built in Chewang Town, allowing more poor families to join in and shake off poverty and become rich together.
