Chengdu Agricultural Professional Manager "Father and son Bing" to create a colorful Grape Kingdom

On the grape avenue of ten thousand mu vineyard in Hanchang Town, Dayi County, Zeng Zhengping and Zeng's father and son run Crispy Peak Family Farm, which is quite famous. As a municipal demonstration family farm in Chengdu City in 2016, more than a dozen varieties of grapes in the crispy peak vineyard covering an area of 120 mu have entered the mature period for six times. The fruitful fruits on the branches and the sweet fruit fragrance dispersed in the orchard indicate that there will be another good harvest this year.

Zeng, who just turned 24 this year, has managed the family farm for six years. Different from other young people who went to the countryside to start a business with capital, Zeng had been influenced by his father Zeng Zhengping's planting and management of grapes since childhood. After graduating from high school, Tseng Chi, unwilling to continue his studies, began to participate in the management of the family farm in Crispy Peak, helping his father.

The addition of young people has injected vitality into family farms. When it comes to grape varieties, maturity and taste, certification of organic products, soil improvement, product inspection and order-based sales methods, there have been many treasures.

Zeng Qi said that these experiences benefited from two aspects: one is the accumulation of high-quality grapes planted by his father in the past ten years, and the other is the platform and corresponding training provided by Chengdu agricultural professional managers.

Since 2012, Chengdu City has incorporated the training fund for agricultural professional managers into the financial budget every year, and targeted graduates from colleges and universities, planting experts with certain education level and agricultural production management skills, returning migrant workers who intend to devote themselves to agricultural undertakings, urban residents, demobilized soldiers and other personnel familiar with agricultural production and management. Through self-registration, county-level agricultural administrative departments include personnel who meet the basic conditions and are willing to engage in agricultural production and operation management into the training plan.

Zeng's father and son both participated in Chengdu agricultural professional manager training. His father Zeng Zhengping was a student in the first phase of 2013, and his son Zeng participated in the second phase.

Zeng revealed that the reason for attracting both their father and son to participate in the training was the professionalism of their training and the communication platform for grape growers established through training. "The year before last, Chengdu City Agricultural Committee organized us to go to Beijing Agricultural University to participate in training, providing fertilizer and water management and building concepts for sightseeing agriculture. These trainings are very professional and useful for improving our planting technology." Zeng Qi said,"Since the beginning of this year, agricultural professional manager training has been accurately classified, grape planting has been arranged for training together, and training has become normal." Through training, we have created a 'circle of friends' for grape growers and realized resource sharing in grape industry sales channels and technical management."

Chengdu was wet and rainy in July, but the vineyard was dry and clean. The steel frame greenhouses on both sides of the park road are neatly arranged, and a string of green, red and purple grapes are tempting on the branches. Zeng Qi said,"Now almost all the owners of vineyards in Hanchang Town of Dayi County have joined the agricultural professional manager team five, through relevant training to master professional planting technology, now nearly ten thousand mu of standardized planting greenhouses account for the vast majority, really achieve scientific management, harvest controllable."

At present, seven or eight early-maturing varieties such as summer black, peak queen, red bala and black bala have entered the best picking period in Crispy Peak Family Farm. Next, Yongyou, Sunshine Rose, Jufeng, Hongti, Purple Earth and Autumn Black, Kelunsheng, Wenke, Italy and other medium-maturing and late-maturing varieties will continue to mature for six times, which can be continuously supplied until around National Day.

Zeng Qi, who didn't want to go to college at the beginning, has already started studying university courses majoring in business administration. He said,"Agricultural technology is the first place, but it is also inseparable from advanced management methods and management concepts, so I want to make up the management courses and strive to apply what I have learned."

Inside the family farm now, Zeng and his father Zeng Zhengping worked together. His father was responsible for the cultivation and technology of the vineyard, and he was responsible for its management and sales.

Chengdu agricultural professional managers "father and son soldiers" are inheriting the experience and hope of Chengdu modern agriculture.
