Last Updated: 2024/09/21, The cost of "ecological pig" of "eating leaves" is reduced by 12%.

A kind of "ecological pig" meat that "eats leaves" has landed in dozens of supermarkets in Nanning, Guilin and Liuzhou, Guangxi, quietly occupying the meat consumption market with its safe, healthy and nutritious characteristics. Liu Shangwen, a professor at Wuhan University, said: "raising pigs while planting trees will become a new way for farmers to raise pigs to get rich."

Liu Shangwen has been committed to the industrialization research and development of Broussonetia papyrifera for many years, and holds a number of related patents. The whole industry chain model of Broussonetia papyrifera eco-pig promoted by Liu Shangwen is expected to contribute to the current implementation of "precise poverty alleviation".

"Broussonetia papyrifera leaves grow fast, high protein content, amino acids, vitamins, carbohydrates, trace elements and other nutritional components and nutritional balance indicators are very excellent, is a high-quality livestock and poultry feed resources." Liu Shangwen said.

The foliage ecological pig promoted by Liu Shangwen and his team belongs to natural breeding. According to the animal's own living time and eating habits, the leaf ecological pig manure does not contain harmful substances, does not have a negative impact on the environment, and can be processed into biogas or fertilizer. The whole breeding process maintains the balance of the biological chain. The pigs raised in this way ensure that the meat will not be contaminated, will not pollute the environment, and will not be harmful to the human body.

"Broussonetia papyrifera ecological pigs have completely avoided the decline in pork quality caused by relying on antibiotics or even hormones to promote pig growth, which is like 'chewing sawdust'," he said. The fermented feed of Broussonetia papyrifera is like green fodder, and the ecological pigs fed with it return to the fragrant, delicate and delicious flavor of 'Nongjiashan pig' in the past. "

Zhang Jiwei, a professor at South China Agricultural University, verified the feeding results of Broussonetia papyrifera bio-fermented feed put forward by Liu Shangwen. A comparative experiment was conducted in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province. The results showed that the breeding cost of Broussonetia papyrifera pigs was reduced by nearly 12%, and the meat quality was approved by 96.8%.

With the addition of capital power from Qianhai in Shenzhen, Liu Shangwen and his team have the strength to expand and strengthen the eco-pig industry in Guangxi. Liu Shangwen is determined to build a whole industry chain from "tree planting-biological feed processing and production-ecological pig feeding-slaughtering and quarantine-brand ecological pork listing-citizen dining table" to ensure the safety and traceability of the pork production process.

"our eco-pork will adopt the direct selling model and enter the supermarket directly to ensure that there is no intermediate link and maximize the interests of consumers." Liu Shangwen said.

At present, Liu Shangwen's team has developed Broussonetia papyrifera planting bases in long'an, Guangxi and other places, and the production base of Broussonetia papyrifera biological feed is also under construction. Some customers from other provinces and regions have come and reached a cooperation agreement on promoting ecological pig farming and promoting poverty alleviation for farmers in mountainous areas.

Liu Shangwen said that in response to the country's call for "precise poverty alleviation," the team will vigorously support local farmers to set up agricultural cooperatives, build a complete "tree planting-tree fermentation biological feed processing-pollution-free animal husbandry-ecological meat product sales" industrial chain, and strive for each qualified poor household to master one or two practical technologies and at least participate in one farming, planting and other income-increasing projects.

Liu Shangwen's company put forward two plans for the construction of the Gaoshu agricultural cooperative project: household farming and centralized farming. The former is that members join the society with land and promise to plant Broussonetia papyrifera on the land in the form of contract, while the cooperative is responsible for organizing Broussonetia papyrifera planting, feed fermentation production, epidemic prevention and technical training. After farmers join the cooperative, in addition to enjoying some fixed returns, each mu of land can also enjoy share dividends.

In the latter, the establishment of cooperatives is the same as the former, but the difference lies in the construction of pig farms, centralized breeding and standardized management. Members may also be employed as workers and managers of cooperative feed processing plants and farms to receive remuneration.
