Interplanting seedlings and medicinal materials drives villagers to become rich
At the height of summer, at the seedling medicine interplanting base in Mutun Village, Changxing Town, Runan County, Henan Province, more than 50 women were busy harvesting goose herbs under the acacia tree. Bai Jiong, secretary of the party branch of Mutun Village, who is guiding at the scene, happily introduced: "what we have interplanted under the 30 mu of Robinia pseudoacacia tree is all medicinal herbs, with a yield of more than 1000 jin per mu, two seasons a year, the market price can be sold at seven or eight yuan per kilogram, and the annual output value reaches more than 200,000 yuan."
Bai Jiong has been engaged in planting flowers and trees for more than 10 years. From the initial scattered planting to the present 30 mu seedling base, and led the whole village to plant more than 1000 mu of flowers and trees, with more than 10 varieties of flowers and trees.
Bai Jiong found that Robinia pseudoacacia generally takes 4 to 5 years from planting to sale. Robinia pseudoacacia grows slowly. Among the more than 300 locust trees planted per mu, there is a large gap between plants. Can you interplant traditional Chinese medicine in the field? In the spring of 2015, Bai Jiong began trial planting and promoted it after success. He bought 50 kilograms of goose seeds from medicine buyers, simply loosened the land, skillfully applied farm manure, and then sowed the seeds evenly in the field after dressing up the soil, weeding and watering regularly. After scientific management, in less than 6 months, Bai Jiong's geese achieved a bumper harvest without eating medicinal materials.
"Goose does not eat grass, is a traditional Chinese medicine, with wind, cold and other effects, growth conditions are not high, the market prospect is good. After the summer harvest, the seeds fall automatically, and there is no need to sow too many seeds in the second season. By the end of October, the second season will be ready for harvest. " Speaking of planting medicinal materials, Bai Jiong said, "the adoption of three-dimensional interplanting not only improves the utilization rate of land, but also does not affect the growth of Robinia pseudoacacia, and the economic benefit per mu is more than 3000 yuan higher than that of traditional planting methods."
