Wang Guangguo: digging a road from a cliff to build a road to prosperity
"hit pestle son, carry basket son, sell pig still have to carry 'sedan chair'". More than ten years ago, Dianziping Village, which is more than 1200 meters above sea level, was a mountain village without roads. Villagers could only climb along a narrow path on the cliff.
At the beginning of 2005, Wang Guangguo, Party Branch Secretary of Dianziping Village, Jianshi County, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, began to lead villagers to build roads. It took them six years to carve out a 7.5-kilometer road through the village on the cliff.
Wang Guangguo won a series of honors: representatives of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, deputies to the National People's Congress, and the most beautiful village party secretary in China...
"In the past, the roads were impassable, and we were inferior." Now that the tangible road has been opened, where is the invisible road to wealth?
In 2013, Wang Guangguo proposed that corn, potato and sweet potato are the "old three kinds" of Dianziping people's farming, which can only be mixed with food and clothing, and traditional agriculture must be transformed into characteristic agriculture.
He organized village cadres and villagers 'representatives to go out for investigation and repeated discussions. Later, everyone unanimously decided to develop kiwi fruit, konjac and flue-cured tobacco "new three kinds", making it the "main industry" for villagers to get rid of poverty.
Wang Guangguo ran to the county to win a batch of kiwi fruit free seedlings, distributed to households. However, some conservative villagers were unwilling to plant, and some simply returned the seedlings.
In order to convince everyone, Wang Guangguo took the lead in adjusting his 8 mu of land to grow kiwi fruit. He also went to the county supermarket to buy kiwi fruit for everyone to taste.
"This kiwi is 7 yuan a catty. It's delicious and nutritious. It sells well. If one mu of land can yield 500 jin, how much can we sell it for?" Wang Guangguo's words dispelled everyone's concerns.
Through friends, Wang Guangguo introduced Shanghai Dexin Farm Company, invested more than 1.4 million yuan in Dianziping, leased villagers 'land and built a contiguous kiwi fruit base.
Dianziping village kiwifruit planting area has exceeded 500 mu, this year to the first year of large-scale harvest.
Liu Taigui, a villager, touched the kiwi fruit hanging in the ground and said with a smile: "Everything that Guangguo wants to do has been done, I believe him." I planted two acres of kiwi fruit, and I have no problem earning seven or eight thousand yuan this year."
The "new three samples" have become a "new way" for villagers to get rid of poverty and become rich. The per capita net income of the village has increased from 2360 yuan in 2011 to 7414 yuan in 2015, which makes Wang Guangguo full of confidence.
"By the end of this year, Dianziping Village will be completely out of poverty. We have also set a goal of reaching the province's average per capita net income by 2018." Wang Guangguo said.
