Today, "Food painting" has become the pillar industry of Shoudong Village, and has won honors such as "Ten most Beautiful villages in China", "CCTV shooting Base", "fourth National civilized villages and towns", and "Beautiful villages in Hebei Province". In April 2016, it was rated as a national 3A-level tourist scenic spot, and tourists flocked to it, making more and more villagers become small bosses on their doorstep.

From "relying on heaven for a living" to "relying on the village for a living", in Shoudong Village, a small town of grain painting, there are many villagers who have undergone great changes like Shi Xianqiao, such as GE Ji Liangpi at the entrance of the village, Salted Duck Egg, hand-woven in the street, clank and iron farm music in the Chen alley, and tofu workshop in the grape corridor. Up to now, there are more than a dozen farmers and self-employed farmers in Shoudong Village, with an annual income of more than 100,000 yuan.

The education town Wang Taoyuan, a village with a population of less than 500 people 60 miles from the county seat, has successively emerged from the "Wang Taoyuan phenomenon" of 123 college students since the resumption of the college entrance examination.

Seeing the influx of tourists from the village every day, Wang Menglian and her husband Wang Fuguo, who works in Beijing, were tempted to open up the idea of "farm music."

In July 2015, Wang Menglian's "number one Chicken" farm music officially opened, with its novel and unique wheat straw stacking room, primitive big bowl of tea, and the little yellow chicken walking in the yard attracted a number of admiring tourists.

"We have six private rooms, all of which are brick and tile structures, each equipped with air-conditioning." While serving chicken nuggets to tourists, Wang Menglian shouted at the top of her voice, "A maximum of 380 people have been received in a day. We have just built another hall in the north, so we can't always let tourists eat in the yard!"

In less than a year since its opening last year, Wang Menglian has paid off a foreign debt of more than 100,000 yuan.

In Wang Fuguo's memory, two years ago, Wang Taoyuan was still a dirty and messy scene, with piles of garbage and flies flying everywhere. On a rainy day, several muddy roads in the village turned into rotten bogs. In 2014, the beautiful rural construction in Guantao County sounded the horn, road hardening, village greening, sewer renovation. Soon after, the "education town" with clean rivers and clear ponds, green trees and red flowers was born.

"in the words of city people, our village is now a 'paradise', just like the paradise sung in the village song, beautiful place, peach blossom fragrant thyme …..." Wang Fuguo cleared his throat and hummed in a low voice.

Wang Menglian's happy experience represents the aspirations of countless villagers in the beautiful countryside of Guantao County. Up to now, the county has built 16 characteristic towns, such as grain painting town, education town and cucumber town, and developed dozens of "farm music" and "rural inns", with an average annual income of more than 100000 yuan.

In the process of beautiful rural construction, Guantao County respects the original appearance of the village, abandons large-scale demolition and construction, takes "one town with multiple communities" as the structure, and in accordance with the requirements of "one village, one characteristic", insists on producing a strong village and promoting beauty with prosperity, and takes the development of characteristic industries as the top priority.
