Yunnan Fumin: 3800 mu marigold blossoms to become rich

People's Daily, Kunming, Aug. 12 (Li Faxing) recently, 3800 mu of marigold all over Chijiu Town, Fumin County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, are scattered and undulating, especially conspicuous in the mountains in early autumn.
Marigold, also known as stinky chrysanthemum, is not only used to extract food pigment, but also has a wide range of uses in cosmetics and medicine. In recent years, Fumin County has introduced marigold planting, vigorously developed plateau characteristic agriculture, and sought a way for the masses to get rid of poverty and increase income and become rich by means of planting and popularizing at the same time. In 2016, 10 village committees in Chijiu Town planted more than 3800 mu of marigold, with an estimated output of about 12000 tons and a gross profit of about 12 million.
