There are many embarrassing things in poor childhood: dream of digging eggs into a pile of wheat bran to get rich
Recently, I don't know why, my thoughts always fly back to my childhood. On May Day this year, when I came all the way back to Dabeisu Village, Ningjin County, Hebei Province, where I was born and raised me, I found that this barren land is still my dream place! Walking on the street on the cement road and looking at strange and familiar faces reminds me of the story of digging eggs when I was a child.
At that time, my family was poor, and I couldn't eat a few steamed buns all the year round, so eggs almost became a luxury in my childhood. I remember that when I was in the first grade and it was half a day in class, a classmate named Liu Zenghai ran panting to the door of the classroom to shout a report, and the teacher asked him to stand in front of the podium and explain why he was late in front of the students. Blushing shyly, he gasped and said, "I don't have any exercise books. My mother told me to wait for the chicken to lay eggs in exchange for eggs." But the hen lay in the nest but did not come out. I mentioned the old hen several times, but it had no eggs. I just waited and waited. The old hen finally barked. I picked up the chicken and threw it on the ground. I took the egg and ran to the supply and marketing co-operative. I accidentally fell down and broke the egg.
As he spoke, he pointed to the clothes covered with eggs and cried sadly. When the teacher saw this and did not criticize him, he asked him to sit down.
The bell rang after school, and we ran out of the classroom jumping and laughing. Suddenly one of my cousins said to me mysteriously: brother, shall we go to that wheat bran house to dig eggs after dinner? I thought, yes, the so-called wheat bran house is several large houses next to the cowshed of the production team, which is almost full of the annual rations of the livestock in the production team-wheat bran!
These wheat bran houses caused many chickens to look for food, and some ignorant chickens laid eggs there when they were full. This thought made me so excited that I had a quick meal when I got home and invited two cousins of my age to come to the wheat bran house, where my cousins were already waiting for us!
We rushed excitedly into the wheat bran pile, looking for traces of eggs, digging and digging, suddenly our cousin shouted, "got it!" Dug it! I dug up four eggs! We ran to have a look, and sure enough, our cousin dug up four eggs!
That kind of envy is no less than envy that people have won 5 million of the lottery. We dug eggs harder and harder, but the rest of us got nothing when it was time for class.
At night, I was so happy that I couldn't sleep. I kept making up my dream: digging up eggs can not only have a delicious taste, but also change exercise books! If you dig 4 eggs a day, you can dig 120 eggs a month, then you will become a rich man.
At noon the next day, with the dream of digging eggs to sell money to make a fortune, we rushed into the wheat bran house, desperately looking for the trace of eggs. However, it was my cousin who dug up four eggs!
The two cousins sighed and said that we had no good luck!
In class in the afternoon, my mind wandered: why do my cousins always dig up eggs, but why do they always dig up 4 eggs? Why are all the cousins asking us to dig eggs together? Is there something in it?
My two cousins and I live in the south end of the village, and my cousin lives opposite the wheat bran house. When school was over at noon on the third day, my cousin ran up to me and said, "Brother, let's dig eggs after dinner, okay?" I readily agreed.
Then I quietly came to an ambush near the wheat bran house. at this time, my cousin came out of the house, came to the wheat bran house, took the eggs from his pocket and buried them in the wheat bran, marked them again, and went home.
I rushed up and scratched the mark, and sure enough it was four eggs! I buried the eggs and marked them as they were.
After lunch, my two cousins and I went to the wheat bran house again. My cousin began to dig eggs with us. First, he pretended to dig and dig in other places. Before he knew it, I rushed to the marked place to dig. Then I shouted, "I've got eggs!" I dug up four eggs!
The two cousins ran over and were still envious, but they suddenly lay in the wheat chaff and began to cry: "that's my egg!" The eggs I stole from home were buried here! Give it back to me, or my mother will kill me if she knows. "
I deliberately did not give it to him, forcing him to say that he had been burying his family's eggs here, and then asked us to dig eggs together!
Since then, our dream of digging eggs to get rich has been completely broken!
