Across a flooded bridge over the Chengpo River, a verdant green screen corridor formed by the village bamboo sea in Heping Town, Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County appeared impressively. Although it is the Beginning of Autumn, the bamboo is still soaring and green.

Bamboo is a poverty alleviation and breeding product vigorously promoted in the village, and it is also the favorite food of bamboo beavers. The reason why the village chose to breed bamboo beavers is not only rich in bamboo resources, but also stagger the peak of other farmed products on the market and other factors.

There are broad prospects for imitating wild culture.

"these bamboos were planted by their parents. At first, because they were too tall, they blocked the light of the growth of betel nut trees, and they planned to cut them all. Now the village cooperative has set up a special culture of bamboo beavers. Bamboo can be used to feed beavers without having to be cut down." Chen Shiquan, an expert in raising bamboo beavers and a member of the village's professional cooperative for raising bamboo beavers, said: "the low cost of raising bamboo beavers and the high selling price have brought hope to the wealth of the whole village."

On August 9, the reporter saw that the bamboo beavers raised by the specialized bamboo beaver farming cooperatives in the village were furry, chubby, and gray all over, living in a cubicle, or curling up in a corner to sleep, or "chirping", or gnawing bamboo and grinding their teeth.

The compartment is made of ceramic tiles, in which a row of ventilation holes are specially drilled on one side, and the ground is poured with cement to prevent bamboo beavers from burrowing and escaping. Chen Shiquan said that the beaver loves to be clean, and the ventilation hole is also the exit for the beaver to push out the leftover bamboo residue and other rubbish.

Shi Lequang, the first secretary of the village, said that despite the small size of this kind of product imitating wild farming, the selling price is not low. He said that since the 1990s, artificially domesticated bamboo beavers have eaten raw bamboo stalks with delicate meat, delicious taste and high nutritional value. they are low-fat and low-cholesterol meat products, which are loved by domestic consumers and have broad prospects for breeding market.

Each beaver can be sold for more than 300 yuan.

"Bamboo Beaver is also called Bamboo Mouse, and its staple food is bamboo. It is usually paired with some corn stalks and sugar cane, and we will feed her a small amount of rice bran when she is pregnant." Chen Jinxiang of the co-operative talks eloquently about breeding techniques: "A female beaver can produce two to six young rats per litter, and three to four babies a year. Bamboo rats can be raised in a year, and each adult bamboo rat of three to four kilograms can be fenced out at the current market price of 100 yuan per catty. Each bamboo rat can have an income of more than 300 yuan. The key is that it is easy to raise bamboo beavers and trim their teeth on time. People in the co-op take turns on duty every day, and raising bamboo beavers saves manpower. "

Shi Lequang said that at present, the cooperative has 11 members, including 6 pairs of poor households who set up archives and set up cards. Next, the poverty alleviation team of the General Office of the Provincial CPC Committee will increase support, expand 120 square meters of beaver houses, and introduce 250 pairs of bamboo beaver seedlings. "A pair of old people in the village raise 400 bamboo beavers, and they can earn 100000 yuan a year, and they don't have to worry about a market. they can buy them back wherever they are purchased. We have signed a buyback agreement with bamboo beaver farming companies in other provinces, selling them for at least 80 yuan per jin." Shi Leguang said.

No matter how easy it is to breed, it also needs careful care. The teeth should be cut in time when the teeth grow; bamboo should not have black spots and should not be too wet; sugarcane should not have red spots; the temperature of the beaver house should not be too cold or too hot.

Looking for a new market for network platform

Chang Yingwei, a cadre stationed in the village, believes that although it takes a lot of money to buy beaver in the early stage, the cooperative resolutely chooses to introduce this breed of bamboo beaver, and the most important thing is that it can stagger the peak period of listing together with traditional poverty alleviation breeds such as black pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, and so on.

"when the collective market price will be affected by the market, the enthusiasm of poverty alleviation targets will be frustrated." Chang Yingwei believes that the bamboo beaver market is currently in short supply and has broad prospects, and the cutting village should make every effort to develop the bamboo beaver breeding industry.

Through the positive promotion of the cutting to the members of the professional cooperative for bamboo beaver breeding, more and more villagers are willing to join the ranks of raising bamboo beaver. Next, the cutting village is also actively seeking a network platform to open a new market for bamboo beaver.

On the way to poverty alleviation in Qiongzhong, it is put forward to "actively adjust the industrial structure of poverty alleviation, that is, to broaden the channels for increasing farmers' income". The "breeding + planting" model of cutting to the village has enabled the integration and utilization of bamboo beaver imitation wild breeding and a large number of bamboo forest resources.

In view of the problem that a large number of bamboo forests will occupy woodland in the future, Wang Dabiao, secretary of the party branch of the village, said that new varieties such as forage grass will also be introduced, and bamboo beavers will be fed with straw to promote the sustainable development of the characteristic bamboo beaver breeding industry chain.
