Recently, more than 1000 "walking chickens" raised by Li Haiming, a chicken farmer under the forest at the Chaoyang operation station of Beixing Farm, were ordered by merchants in Qitaihe City and Mishan, bringing a net profit of nearly 40, 000 yuan for Li Haiming.

In recent years, Beixing Farm has made great efforts to promote the economic development under the forest, encouraging the cultivation of large hazelnuts and Chinese herbal medicine, while guiding workers to develop under-forest breeding projects, in which under-forest chicken is favored by the majority of consumers. In this breeding model, chickens are not given any additive feed, and chickens mainly catch insects and pick up grass seeds in the mountains and forests, so they are pure "pheasants". Although the chicken does not grow fat, but the chicken has high nutritional value, green and healthy. In addition, the farmed chickens are not kept in captivity, shuttling and wandering in the woods all day long. Because they are fully exercised, the chicken tastes good. Therefore, after putting it on the market, although the price is more than twice that of ordinary broilers, it is still welcomed by farm residents and consumers in the neighboring city of Qitaihe. According to the statistics of the Forestry Department, there are 15 farms with more than 1000 chickens in the forest, with a total of more than 50, 000, which has become a good project for workers to get rich.
