Post-80s college students grow "meat" to get rich

Jurong Jinhong Family Farm, located on the north side of Jurong Chishan Lake Wetland Park, has only one year from the official start of construction to this day, but the farm's annual sales in 2016 are expected to exceed 10 million yuan.

To the reporter's surprise, Tao Dafei, the founder of this family farm, is a college student entrepreneur born in 1981 and a "new star" among college student entrepreneurs in Jurong in recent years.

Tao Dafei is a native of Jurong. He graduated from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2002, majored in tourism management, and once worked in the hotel management industry after graduation. But the dream of starting a business has always been indelible in his heart. In May 2006, he returned to Jurong to start a business and engaged in the distribution of agricultural and sideline products. After several years of touching and rolling, he found that there were many agricultural projects in Jurong market, but few of them could make a quick and stable profit. After some market research, Tao Dafei focused on the succulent plant market and found huge business opportunities.

Just do it. Tao Dafei transferred more than 200 mu of land to the north of Chishan Lake Wetland Park and officially started construction of Jurong Jinhong Family Farm on July 16, 2015.

Walking into the farm, the first thing you can see is a large white greenhouse, covering an area of about 30 mu. When the reporter first saw Tao Dafei, he gave the impression that although his skin had become dark after the wind and the sun, he was calm and capable everywhere.

It was scorched by the sun outside, but it was muggy inside the greenhouse. However, it is amazing to see pots of neatly arranged succulent plants with peculiar shapes and rich colors, either cute or honest. At present, there are more than 100 varieties of succulent plants on the farm. Not only that, there are also seedlings such as crape myrtle and begonia in the farm, as well as vegetable fields and tea gardens, while the water surface of more than 20 mu provides better conditions for further enriching the agricultural format of the farm.

Agriculture has the advantages of large investment, slow efficiency and high risk, which is not only a major feature of agricultural development, but also a major difficulty, and the most important thing is to solve the sales problem. By setting up an e-commerce platform, Jinhong Family Farm has set up a "silent succulent gardening" shop on Taobao to expand online sales channels. Tao Dafei told reporters that more than 90% of succulent plants are sold online. As a result of paying great attention to credibility in the sales process, the shops set up in Taobao can rank in the top ten among many similar shops. A good reputation has greatly promoted sales, which can reach more than 70,000 yuan a day.

The development of e-commerce provides a new channel for the sale of products. In order to further support and promote the better development of e-commerce, Jurong Human Resources Bureau and other departments will hold the first e-commerce entrepreneurship competition in Jurong, Jiangsu Province this year. Zhang Yonghua, deputy director of Jurong Labor and Employment Management Center, told reporters that the registration situation is good, and more than 100 projects have signed up for the competition, and Jinhong Family Farm is also one of them. Zhang Yonghua said that the award-winning projects will receive start-up subsidies and incentives and support from funds and venues. At the same time, with regard to the relatively large number of workers employed by the Jinhong family farm, especially the lack of demand for artists and operational personnel, Zhang Yonghua said that he will make full use of the advantageous resource platform of the society to give active support. He said that the Jinhong family farm not only absorbed the surplus labor nearby, but also targeted to solve the employment problem of veterans. At the same time, it contributed to Jurong's employment work by recruiting college students for oriented professional training. The people's social department should make a contribution to the development of the farm.

When it comes to future development, Tao Dafei has his own vision: Jinhong Family Farm will take succulent plants as the theme, integrate a variety of leisure experience formats, combined with the operation of e-commerce platform, develop into a theme park with the combination of succulent planting, display, sales and agricultural sightseeing, leisure, experience and vacation, echoing Chishan Lake Wetland Park and becoming a unique highlight project in the suburbs of Jurong.
