Speaking of the egg market in the first half of this year, it is really "bleak" two words. After the Spring Festival in 2016, the retail price of eggs continued to fall, rising slightly only in May, from 3 yuan 8 per catty in March to 3 yuan 9, and falling back to 3 yuan 5 in July.

At present, egg prices have risen against the trend, egg prices have risen all over the country, egg prices in some markets are rising steadily, even a day of price scenarios. What is the reason for this increase? Will egg prices fly? In August, egg prices finally began to improve. Egg prices in Rugao City, Jiangsu Province, rose strongly, and recently they were one price a day. The average price of eggs in the three major farmers 'markets in the Urban area was 4.1 yuan, up nearly 8% from the same period last month. According to Nanjing Price Information Network in Jiangsu Province, eggs were generally 4 yuan per catty last week, but rose 12 percent this week, up 6.53 percent year-on-year. Zhuochuang information analyst Xu Xin introduced, At present, The national egg prices have risen.

Xu Xin: Recently, egg prices in the main producing areas and main selling areas of the country have shown an upward trend. The average weekly price in the main producing areas is 3.43 per catty, with a month-on-month increase of 8.89%; the average weekly price in the main selling areas is 3.63 per catty, with a month-on-month increase of 9.67%. Due to the holiday effect, local supermarkets actively purchase, market goods accelerated. In addition, the temperature in various places is relatively high, the laying rate of laying hens is still 5%-8% lower than the normal level, the supply of large-sized eggs is less, the large-sized eggs are out of stock by stages, and the egg price is higher. Although it is "up a piece", but the overall still failed to get out of the downturn in the market, after the Spring Festival, egg prices all the way down, wholesale prices fell below 3 yuan per catty in June, the lowest price in 2015. Looking back at the egg prices in Shandong's sales area in the middle and late August in recent years, they were 5.15 yuan a catty in 2013, 6.09 yuan a catty in 2014 and 4.8 yuan a catty in 2015. In contrast, this year's egg prices are indeed not high.

Xu Xin: Compared with previous years, egg prices are generally low this year, 7-8 cents lower than last year. As of today, the national average price in August fell by 18.94% year-on-year. Due to weak demand, food factories purchase less than half of the eggs in the egg consumption season in previous years, and the egg price rise momentum is insufficient, and the "rocket egg" scenery is no longer. In the first half of this year, many laying hen farmers lose several hundred yuan a day, and those farmers who can't stand the pressure sell the laying hens directly to reduce losses. Some farmers told reporters that although the price of eggs has risen now, it is still low, which cannot make up for the losses in the early stage. For this round of rise, analysts believe that it belongs to the annual seasonal rise, on the one hand, the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, the downstream market began to actively stock up; in addition, after the school starts in September, egg demand will further increase. According to the market in previous years, egg prices before the Mid-Autumn Festival have been rising.

Xu Xin: From August 5, egg prices began to rise. Mainly affected by the stock preparation of Mid-Autumn Festival, most dealers in the downstream market are used to stocking goods in advance. Meanwhile, the demand of food factories in some regions improves, the purchase volume increases slightly, and the market goods are gradually accelerated. Moreover, most farmers eliminate old chickens before the Mid-Autumn Festival, the number of old chickens in chicken farms decreases, the supply of large-size eggs is in short supply, and it is difficult for dealers to receive goods at low prices, so the egg price enters a rising channel. As egg prices rise to high levels and downstream acceptance capacity is limited, Xu said, this weekend the market is showing a gradual slowdown in goods. Although the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, most food factories and supermarkets are still purchasing on demand, and dealers are also cautious in their operation. Under the support of various favorable conditions, this round of egg prices is likely to rise to the highest point in the second half of the year. Xu Xin: The eggs circulating in the market are still the high-priced source of goods in the early stage. The market in the sales area is mainly to digest the inventory. The operators wait and see the goods in the later market. Egg prices are expected to rise next week under the favorable support of school canteen stocking, or will rise to the highest egg price in the second half of this year.

Due to the fast breeding speed of laying hens, once the egg price fluctuates, farmers will raise the breeding speed of laying hens faster. Therefore, it is basically impossible to expect the "rocket egg" scenario in 2014 to occur again. The combination of high temperature and rainy weather in August has adverse impact on laying hen production. In addition, eggs are not easy to store in summer. Xu Xin suggests normal sale and avoid inventory.

Xu Xin: Due to the high breeding cost in summer, it is suggested that farmers should eliminate old chickens and pay attention to the prevention and control of chicken epidemic diseases. At the same time, the storage time of eggs in high temperature weather is short, and the quality of eggs is difficult to guarantee. It is suggested that farmers sell eggs normally and avoid gambling on inventory.
