Last Updated: 2024/09/16, The State Grain Bureau released an investigation report on the quality of summer wheat harvested in China in 2016.

The State Grain Administration recently released an investigation report on the quality of summer harvest wheat, which pointed out that the overall quality of wheat harvested in nine provinces was obviously lower than that of last year, with a decline in bulk density and the proportion of third-class and above wheat, and the problem of imperfect grains exceeding the standard was more prominent, with the exception of Shanxi Province. imperfect wheat grains in all provinces have exceeded the standard. Among them, because the grain filling period and harvest period of wheat in Huang-Huai area are generally affected by rainfall and other special climate, the imperfect grains in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Hubei provinces exceed the standard seriously. The report is as follows:

In order to keep abreast of the quality of wheat harvested in the summer of 2016, the State Grain Administration continued to organize major wheat producing provinces to carry out centralized wheat quality inspection. The samples collected are all village-level mixed samples, the number of samples is distributed according to the output weight, and the inspection items are mainly conventional quality indicators. As of July 18, the centralized inspection work of nine major summer harvest wheat producing provinces, including Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan and Shaanxi, had been completed, and a total of 1885 newly harvested wheat samples had been collected. involving 417 major producing counties (districts) in 91 cities, 27000 inspection data were obtained.

I. the overall situation of wheat quality inspection in 9 provinces in 2016

From the test data, the overall quality of wheat harvested in 9 provinces is obviously lower than that of last year. The proportion of bulk density and third-grade wheat decreased, and the problem of imperfect grains exceeding the standard was more prominent. Except for Shanxi Province, imperfect grains of wheat in all provinces exceeded the standard. Among them, because the grain filling period and harvest period of wheat in Huang-Huai area are generally affected by rainfall and other special climate, the imperfect grains in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Hubei provinces exceed the standard seriously.

The test results of all samples in 9 provinces are as follows: the average bulk density is 783 g / L, which is 6 g / L lower than that of last year, with a variation range of 627 g / L and 850 g / L. The proportion from first class to fifth class is 46.3%, 29.1%, 14.9%, 5.7% and 2.6% respectively, foreign products account for 1.4%, and those above medium (third class) account for 90.3%, down 4.7% from last year. The average 1000-grain weight was 42.9g, which was the same as that of last year, and its amplitude was 28.0g~58.0g. The average hardness index was 62.8, which was 1.0 lower than that of last year, with a range of 35.6-78.8. The average content of imperfect grains was 7.1%, an increase of 1.6% over last year, of which 81.0% met the national standard (≤ 10%), down 7.5%, 10%, 20%, 13.1% and 5.9% from last year.
