Huang Huancheng, a villager from Huangwu Village, Tonghu Town, Zhongkai High-tech Zone, has planted fruit trees and raised pigs. A few years ago, he finally chose raising sheep as his career. After 3 years of exploration, he found out the habits of sheep, mastered the technology of raising sheep, and gradually expanded the scale of breeding, which was recognized by his peers. His sheep only eat grass and the meat is quite tender. He does not publicize himself, but his clients offer to help him "sell advertisements" on Wechat.

The sheepfold is ventilated and the excrement leaks directly into the ground.

In Huangwu Village after the rain, the air is very fresh. Near the foot of the mountain, there were bursts of bleating of lambs. Climbing up a small slope, Huang Huancheng's sheepfold was built on a flat not far away. A sheepfold made of a wooden house is more than a meter high above the ground. The palm-wide plank is nailed into the floor, and there is a gap of about 1 cm between each board, so that it can be better ventilated, and the feces and urine pulled out of the sheep can also leak out of the gap for easy cleaning. The enclosure has a half-meter-high fence and a wooden roof at the top, with good lighting and ventilation. More than 300 sheep are kept in captivity here, and there is no strong smell in the air.

The lambs were afraid of birth and looked at strangers coming and hiding. Huang Huancheng came, and the sheep who knew him were not afraid of him. Huang Huancheng saw that the rain had stopped for a while, and the sun came out, so he opened the door of the sheepfold and sent the sheep up the mountain to look for food. As soon as the door opened, more than 300 lambs jumped out, walked flexibly and briskly across the hillside path, and soon climbed up the hillside to eat and draft in the grass, with only an occasional cry of lambs looking for ewes.

Set up a "nursery" to take better care of ewes and lambs

Huang Huancheng is now the only sheep farmer in the village. Prior to this, there were several brick factories in the village. Due to the heavy smoke, the nearby litchi trees did not grow well or even died, and there was no way out for planting fruit. Pig farming is highly polluting, and pig farms are no longer allowed to be built locally. In 2013, 46-year-old Huang Huancheng thought of developing sheep farming.

He bought more than 100 local goats and raised them on the mountain. Buy wooden slats, knock nails and build a sheepfold. After three years of development, his sheep from more than 100 to more than 300, he found out the goat habits more and more easily. He raised rams and ewes, each of which could give birth to about two births a year. In order to take care of ewes and lambs, he specially set up about 10 "nurseries" in the sheepfold. When the ewe is close to giving birth, it is invited to a separate pen. After the lamb is born and its adaptability is enhanced, it will return to the flock. This kind of human behavior is Huang Huancheng's own idea, which can not only take better care of ewes, but also isolate the harm of other sheep to lambs.

I am most afraid of sheep eating artificial feed and driving them up the mountain to graze every day.

Although Huang Huancheng takes good care of sheep in nursing, he is also a "cruel man". He only hung some salt in the sheepfold for the sheep to eat, and there was no other food. He never feeds the sheep extra food, saying that whether they are full or not is their own business, he doesn't care. Every morning, when the dew of the grass on the mountain was dry, he would drive the sheep up to the mountain to graze, and in the evening the sheep would automatically return. If the sheep don't have enough to eat, they have to wait hungry until the next day to go up the mountain to find food. Looking at his sheep, they are not tall and look thin, so it is hard to see plump ones. But that's what Huang Huancheng is proud of. He says that sheep only eat grass so that their bodies are strong and their meat is better.

From the very beginning, Huang Huancheng never bought artificial feed for sheep. Who knows, several times, his sheep accidentally broke into the ducks in the fish pond at the foot of the mountain and ate duck feed. As a result, the sheep died within a few days. "Sheep, like cattle, can regurgitate. It's normal to regurgitate when they eat grass, but when they eat enough feed, as soon as they drink water, the feed expands. As a result, they can't regurgitate, and they can't pull it out, so they die alive." Huang Huancheng said that he was most afraid of sheep eating artificial feed, and he had several experiences and lessons, so he kept an eye on not allowing sheep to steal feed to prevent this from happening again.

There was no publicity when the supply fell short of demand, and the client took the initiative to advertise for him.

Huang Huancheng said that raising sheep is easier than raising other poultry and livestock. After the sheepfold is built, basically what is spent is the labor cost, because raising sheep without buying feed can save a lot of money. Because of this, some people saw that Huang Huancheng had succeeded in raising sheep and followed him. Huang Huancheng provided them with sheep breeding.

A number of sheep breeders revealed to him that because the sheep they bought before were non-local sheep, they almost all died soon after they bought them back. The reason was that they were not satisfied with the soil and water. Huang Huancheng's sheep are domesticated locally for more than 10 years, so they adapt to the local environment and climate, and the survival rate is very high. Therefore, in addition to selling mutton sheep, Huang Huancheng has also become another selling point for getting rich.

In sales, he almost did not deliberately promote, "do not dare to publicize, I do not sell enough." Although he did not publicize himself, customers came to him on their own initiative, and those near Tonghu loved to buy sheep from him. After buying it back, some customers even helped him promote it on Wechat, which virtually attracted customers from the surrounding areas and even Shenzhen.
