The 28-year-old village secretary and his poverty alleviation "chicken industry"

Nongxiong Village, Qibailong Township, Dahua Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi is located in the mountains, with barren land and backward economic development. There are 123 poor households in the village with nearly 2000 people. Today, Lan Zhiping, a 28-year-old returning youth, is shouldering the heavy burden of leading the masses out of poverty.

Lan Zhiping worked in a logistics company in Nanning for many years. During his part-time job, he found that seven hundred chickens from his hometown were often shipped to some hotels in Nanning, which were in short supply. In August 2014, Lan Zhiping decided to return to his hometown to raise 700 chickens. Soon, his development of the 700 Nong chicken breeding industry made the masses see the hope of getting rid of poverty by relying on the breeding industry. At the end of that year, Lan Zhiping became a village secretary.

Lan Wangming is also a young man returning to his hometown. He plans to raise 1000 chickens this year. Li Xin, a reporter from Xinhua News Agency, said that due to the high demand from customers, Lan Zhiping and four villagers jointly set up a "good Poultry farming Cooperative" and attracted poor families to invest in it. At present, the cooperative raises more than 2300 chickens, and the incubation base, which can hatch 8000 to 10000 chickens a month, is stepping up construction.

This year, Dahua County has decided to take 700 Nong chicken farming as a major industry for poverty alleviation in poor mountainous areas, adopting the model of "base + cooperative + peasant household", and plans to develop 700 Nong chicken breeding in 2016. Lan Zhiping hopes that with the help of this east wind, more poor people will join them and get rid of poverty as soon as possible.

At the mobilization meeting for the development of the chicken breeding industry in Nongxiong Village, Lan Zhiping, a branch secretary of the village, combined with his entrepreneurial experience, mobilized the masses to develop native chicken farming. In the face of the hesitant masses, Lan Zhiping said, "Don't be afraid of loss, because if you don't do it, you'll never get rich. I can teach you how to raise our 700 chickens."... "
