The price of eggs rose slightly in the domestic market.

According to monitoring, in the 33rd week of 2016 (15-21 August 2016, the same below), the "National Wholesale Price Index of Agricultural products" was 203.71 (compared with 2000), an increase of 1.42 points over the previous week; and the "National Wholesale Price Index of vegetable basket products" was 205.31 (100 in 2000), an increase of 1.69 points over the previous week, of which eggs and vegetables contributed the most. The total trading volume of 60 varieties in 50 key wholesale markets was 603400 tons, 1.8 per cent less than the previous week.

The price of pork fell slightly and the price of eggs rose slightly. The average weekly price of pork is 25.14 yuan per kilogram, down 0.7% from the previous month, 2.4% higher than the same period last year; eggs 7.27 yuan per kilogram, up 3.7% month-on-month, 17.0% lower than the same period last year; beef 53.13 yuan per kilogram, up 0.3% month-on-month, 1.2% lower than the same period last year; mutton 43.83 yuan per kilogram, down 1.1% from the previous month, 8.9% lower than the same period last year White-striped chicken costs 14.77 yuan per kilogram, down 1.3% from the previous month and 1.3% higher than the same period last year. The weekly trading volume of the above five animal products under key monitoring (the total trading volume of 50 key wholesale markets, the same below) is 15200 tons, a decrease of 5.6% from the previous month.

Prices of major aquatic products fell slightly. The average weekly prices of crucian carp, grass carp, carp, big yellow croaker and silver carp were 17.92 yuan, 13.00 yuan, 11.58 yuan, 31.93 yuan, 6.86 yuan, 44.19 yuan and 11.91 yuan respectively, down 2.4%, 1.5%, 1.4%, 1.2%, 1.2% and 0.1% respectively. The weekly trading volume of seven kinds of aquatic products was 12300 tons, down 8.2% from the previous month.

The average price of vegetables continues to rise. The average weekly price of 28 kinds of vegetables monitored was 3.65 yuan per kilogram, up 1.7% from the previous month, the seventh consecutive week of slight increase and 5.9% lower than the same period last year. In terms of varieties, the prices of 18 kinds of vegetables rose, 4 were flat, and 6 fell. Among them, cucumber and eggplant increased by 13.0% and 8.5% respectively; white radish, carrot, ginger and potatoes were basically the same; beans and rape fell 3.0% and 2.4% respectively. The weekly trading volume of 28 kinds of vegetables was 428000 tons, down 2.7% from the previous month.

The average price of fruit fell slightly. The weekly average price of seven kinds of fruits under key monitoring was 4.88 yuan per kilogram, up 1.2% from the previous month and 6.7% lower than the same period last year. In terms of varieties, the weekly average prices of pineapple, banana, Yali pear, watermelon and Fuji apple rose 5.0%, 4.2%, 2.1%, 1.2% and 0.6%, respectively, while Jufeng grape fell 2.4%. The weekly trading volume of seven kinds of fruits is 134600 tons, which is basically the same as the previous month.
