Tongcheng, Hubei Province: a Camellia oleifera tree lights up the way out of poverty
Jin Hewen, a poor family in Gobi Village, Tanghu Town, Tongcheng County, Hubei Province, is experiencing a "middle-aged crisis": he has elderly parents who are ill all the year round, a pair of underage children, and a newly built two-story building that makes him owe a foreign debt of more than 100,000 yuan. However, in the conversation with the reporter, the short Jin Hewen always smiled, which shows that the heavy family burden did not crush him.
It turned out that with the help of the local leading enterprise Hubei Huangpaoshan Green products Co., Ltd., Jin Hewen not only solved his urgent needs by raising pigs, but also planted his own 13 mu of land on Camellia oleifera, and the prospect of stable income is expected.
"Huangpaoshan Company not only provides technical guidance and underwriting, but also bears the cost of the investment period. now that people's living standards have improved, the efficiency of tea oil, a green product, should not be poor." Jin Hewen roughly calculated that in the next few years, Camellia oleifera will be able to earn more than 10,000 yuan a year, and will be able to benefit steadily for the next few decades.
Since 2010, Tongcheng County, which is located in the poverty-stricken area of Mufu Mountain area in Hubei Province, has planted an average of 16500 mu of Camellia oleifera every year, thanks to the leadership of local leading enterprises. Fang Dabing, general manager of Huangpaoshan Company, said that at present, the company has transferred more than 50,000 mu of farmers' woodland in the form of stock cooperation, that is, the company has invested all its shares, and farmers have invested in woodland. After the company, the village group and farmers have benefited, the shares will be divided into six or four percent. In addition, the company provides seedlings, technical services and underwriting agreements, and nearly 50,000 mu are planted and managed by farmers themselves.
In Tongcheng County, the Camellia oleifera forest can be seen everywhere, full of green and vitality. Almost every town here has Camellia oleifera base, and every base has the benefit of poor families.
With the Camellia oleifera base on their doorstep, some poor families are both workers and shareholders, and their basic livelihood is guaranteed. Jin Xunwang, a particularly poor family in Miaoxia Village, Sizhuang Township, Tongcheng County, is in his twenties, and his two sons are mentally handicapped and their life is very difficult. After the development of Camellia oleifera industry in the village, in addition to its own 7 mu of land, Jin Xunwang also helped Huangpaoshan Company manage and protect more than 90 mu of Camellia oleifera base. In addition to farming, he can also earn nearly 10,000 yuan from the management, protection and dividends of Camellia oleifera base.
In Daping Township, which is located in a corner and deep in the mountains, in the past two years, the local cooperation with Huangpaoshan Company, Forestry Investment Company and New Sanhui Company to build a ten thousand mu Camellia oleifera base in Yaogushan has not only activated the village-level collective economy, but also benefited a large number of poor households.
Hu Liang, director of Huadun Village in Daping Township, said that there are more than 2000 mu of Camellia oleifera in the village, and most of the management and maintenance personnel invited are poor households, with a salary of more than 300,000 yuan a year for management, weeding, and fertilization, with an average direct income of 6,000 to 7,000 yuan per poor household. After five years of high yield, one mu of Camellia oleifera can also increase the dividend income of 200 yuan a year, and the living standard of accurate poverty alleviation targets will become better and better.
Today, Camellia oleifera industry has become a sharp weapon to promote accurate poverty alleviation. Huangpaoshan Company, Forestry Investment Company and other enterprises, as well as a number of professional cooperatives and large families have come to the fore, leading groups of poor households to ignite hopes of getting rid of poverty. Wu Zhongzhi, deputy director of the Tongcheng County Forestry Bureau, said: at present, more than 100,000 mu of young Camellia oleifera forests in the county have been transferred to companies and large families, benefiting 4000 poor households, with about 18000 people.
