Little bees brew the road to prosperity
"since I started keeping bees last year, it has taken only half a year for more than 20 cases of bees to produce more than 70 jin of honey, which is sold at the market price of 120,160 yuan per kilogram. I sold more than 5000 yuan for my first honey collection this year." A few days ago, Chen Shiguang, a farmer in Qumu Village, Quzhang Township, Hepu County, happily calculated a "sweet account" for the reporter. According to this estimate, he will be able to take off the label of poor households this year.
In the past two years, the poor families in Qumu Village, Quzhang Township, led by Cheng Weidong, the first secretary of the village, have gradually embarked on the road of getting rid of poverty and becoming rich through bee farming.
Cheng Weidong is the first secretary of the Municipal people's political Consultative Conference stationed in Qumucun. When he first walked into Qumu Village, Cheng Weidong found that Qumu Village was located in a remote corner, with backward farming techniques, coupled with a large population and little land, was only self-sufficient in farming, and had no other extra income at all, resulting in nearly half of the poor households. Cheng Weidong sees in the eye, anxious in the heart, how to get rid of poverty has become his most nerve-racking thing.
In the face of difficulties, Cheng Weidong is not discouraged. In order to help villagers out of poverty, he has tried to grow mushrooms, raise pigs and cattle and other businesses, but the results are slow. Cheng Weidong told reporters that the periodicity of raising cattle is relatively long, and the cost of buying calves is very high. Although raising pigs was effective at that time, the input cost was also high. in addition to breeding, they also had to buy feed, and the last pig could only be sold for more than 300 yuan.
By chance, Cheng Weidong learned that the cost of bee breeding is low, the risk is low, the profit is high, and the effect is quick. Moreover, Qumu Village has lush forests, and the natural conditions and environment are very suitable for bee stocking. He is determined to give it a try and identify the beekeeping industry as an anti-poverty industry. With an idea, Cheng Weidong mobilized poor farmers to try beekeeping. It took only half a year since last year. At present, more than 20 of the 34 poor households in the village have begun beekeeping, and many farmers have already been lifted out of poverty that year.
At present, the sweet cause of "beekeeping" has been rolled out in Qumu Village in an all-round way.
