Search for "Dawn Farm" on the Internet, and you can see groups of lovely and cute ornamental plants succulent, which is a colorful world.

The "farm owner" is Chen Xiaosi, a graduate majoring in agriculture, forestry and horticulture of Baoding Vocational and Technical College in 2011. It is said that raising succulent plants is a practice, but in fact, starting a business is more like a rigorous practice. Only strong people who can withstand storms and loneliness can wait for the sound of flowers.

"bubble" in the laboratory, "tie" in the field

Chen Xiaosi, who especially likes to play with flowers and plants since childhood, has always dreamed of having his own pastoral world. When she went to college in 2008, she directly reported to her horticultural technology major in the Department of Agriculture and Forestry Biology. Agricultural and forestry courses cover a wide range of courses, including vegetables, flowers, fruits and vegetables, and the most powerful thing is that they never talk on paper, and most of them are mentors who take students to experiment and practice. Chen Xiaosi spent his college time either spending time in the laboratory carrying out various tissue culture experiments, or working on the farm to refine seedlings and cultivate the land, or to learn from the experience behind his mentor. The studious Chen Xiaosi soon set a goal: to learn professional skills well and to realize his dream of pastoral planting in the future. "in particular, I would like to thank the university for three years of practice and thanks to the teachers for their patient guidance, which not only laid a solid professional foundation, but also enhanced my professional confidence."

Small goals require great effort. After graduating from college in 2011, Chen Xiaosi, with a clear goal, resolutely chose a small agricultural company in Beijing to work as a front-line technician and went to the fields to have close contact with strawberry cultivation for three years. Xiaoxi has always been the most diligent and hardworking employee. In 3 years of practice, she has not only obtained the true strawberry planting classics, but also got familiar with management, sales, administration and other related work. "as I expected at that time, I can get more opportunities to grow in an all-round way in a small company and lay a solid foundation for starting my own business." Thoughtful and thoughtful, I got what I wanted.

Realize the entrepreneurial dream of strawberry, collide with the "succulent" industry circle

In July 2014, the confident Chen Xiaosi resolutely returned to his hometown in Shijiazhuang and was ready to start a strawberry business, but she was strongly opposed by her parents and withheld the start-up capital. But planting and starting a business is a dream that Chen Xiaosi has planned for many years, and she will never waver. She will follow her own dream and will to live. The stubborn Chen Xiaosi did what he said and borrowed 50,000 yuan from a friend, making great efforts to open the way for strawberry entrepreneurship.

In Zhangye Village, Yuanshi County, not far from home, Chen Xiaosi spent 15000 yuan on two greenhouses, 10,000 yuan on customized strawberry packaging materials, 15000 yuan on seedlings, and 10,000 yuan on pre-labor, water and electricity. At the end of July, the greenhouse began to be disinfected, and at the end of August, the shed was opened, and the buckled manure, turning the ground, and making beds, and everything was ready; strawberry seedlings were planted in early September, strawberries appeared in buds in mid-October, strawberries blossomed in the greenhouse at the end of October, and bees pollinated strawberries in the greenhouse at the end of October. Red fruits began to be seen one after another at the end of November, and New Year's Day began to enter the harvest season, covering the shed with bright red fragrance. At this time, Chen Xiaosi began to invite some potential customers to try pollution-free strawberries, and the market slowly opened up.

In his spare time, the thoughtful Chen Xiaosi had an idea and remembered the succulent plant he had learned at school. This kind of "lazy man" plant is very easy to take care of and only needs plenty of sunshine. After doing a good job in the research, Chen Xiaosi immediately invested more than 2000 yuan, introduced some common seedlings such as grass, rain and dew, almanac, and white peony, and planted more than 2000 pots of small meat in the corner of the gap between the sheds. Soon, the tenacious and lovely little plants of life became a vibrant embellishment in the greenhouse. Inadvertently, Xiaoxi found that the crowd of strawberries who came to pick strawberries were all attracted by the small plants in the corner and had to take a few pots with them before leaving. Come and go, the inconspicuous little succulent has become a rare thing that everyone scrambles to buy first.

Will it be a God-given business opportunity to grow and manage succulent plants? New entrepreneurial seeds began to sprout in Chen Xiaosi's mind. After several investigations, Chen Xiaosi found that the succulent online sales market is far larger than the physical sales in the shed. As a result, Chen Xiaosi positioned succulent sales mainly in the network wholesale. However, when the market began to open, she found that the succulent plants in the shed were not enough to sell. A wholesale customer needs at least 100 pieces, but the number of plants in their own shed is too limited. Since he had no experience and dared not expand production rashly, Chen Xiaosi decided to find a few suppliers with a stable supply around and began to wholesale in small quantities online. With the accumulation of time and clients, her business is getting better and better.

Internet + Farm, striding into the "succulent" market

In July 2015, Chen Xiaosi moved out of a greenhouse to plant a large number of popular succulent plants with a short reproductive cycle to reproduce the varieties they often produce on their own to maximize profits. Succulent sales is the peak season in spring and autumn, and Xiaoxi grows a lot in summer and winter. She asked the school teacher for advice on planting and breeding methods, while using the network to self-study, but also actively joined the succulent forum to learn a variety of relevant knowledge and broaden sales channels. Succulent varieties vary, ranging from 3 yuan to 5 yuan to several hundred yuan, and succulent players are hunting for scarce varieties. Having found out the rules of planting and industry, Chen Xiaosi invested 300000 yuan at one time, introduced more than 200 kinds of succulent plants, such as jade butterfly, bear boy, pink vine, purple pearl, mountain series, jade dew series, evergreen grass series, blisters series, etc., and planted them on a large scale. There are more than 100,000 pots in a shed, which are dyed with colorful colors all over the shed, realizing the pastoral dream of Hua Hai.

After three years of wind and rain, Chen Xiaosi realized his strawberry dream, strengthened the succulent market, and won the understanding and support of his family. The old father also moved in to keep her company, guarding the greenhouse and his children's careers and dreams. "to start a business, you should first set a goal, then accumulate all kinds of strength toward the goal, and then rise abruptly based on accumulated strength when the time is ripe." When sharing his entrepreneurial experience, Chen Xiaosi said that the entrepreneurial experience of the pastoral greenhouse has honed his indomitable and firm will. "I accept the truth of death, and once I set a goal, I stick to it," she said. "
