Raising wasps through their own efforts to increase income and become rich, drive the surrounding people to shake off poverty and become rich, and achieve a bumper harvest of both economic and ecological benefits is what Wu Jiexi, a rural boy in Changning, is determined to do.

Wu Jiexi, 20, lives in Chunhuadi Village Group, Mengting Community, Pastoral Town. A few years ago, he said that on the one hand, he and his father went to the mountains to find wild wasps when he was a child, and he had a special memory of wasps, on the other hand, "in 2013, I happened to watch the artificial breeding of wasps in Dehong Prefecture on the agricultural channel of China Central Television. I came up with the idea of raising wasps."

At that time, Wu Jiexi was still studying at Changning County Vocational and Technical School. After he had the idea of raising wasps, he began to learn wasp farming techniques while taking classes. After graduating from vocational school in 2014, instead of being as busy looking for a job as other students, he went to Dehong to learn wasp farming skills with the support of his father. In August 2015, Wu Jiexi went home from school and began to cultivate queen bees and raise wasps with the help of his family. Speaking of his entrepreneurial experience, Wu Xixi said with a smile: "at that time, many people said I was stupid, but now when many people see that I have succeeded, they all say I have ideas."

In April this year, Wu Xixi successfully bred more than 400 bee species and sold more than 200, earning more than 7000 yuan. In June this year, more than 110 standard colonies were sold, with a revenue of more than 30000 yuan.

Pointing to a small bee bag, Wu Xixi said that at present, there are still more than 50 nests of wasps transferred to trees to raise wasps, and it is estimated that they will have an income of about 50000 yuan by selling bee pupae and collecting bee venom.

In order to better promote the surrounding people to raise wasps, in January this year, Wu Xiexi registered and established the Linjin Family Farm in Tianyuan Town, Changning County. It is hoped that more people will breed wasps with him. Wu Jiexi said: "in the next step, I will constantly improve and improve the technology of wasp culture, and at the same time carry out technical training to drive everyone out of poverty and become rich."
