Two college students go back to their hometown to plant figs to ignite their dream of becoming rich.
In Chiwan Village, Youche Gang Town, Xiuzhou District, there are a pair of post-80s partners who like-minded, agreed to become a new era of college students "farmers", chose the fig industry. This choice makes them devote themselves to the land with no regrets, and is ready to keep going.
Recently, in the agricultural base on the east side of Chiwan Village, fig trees are green, ripe figs are covered with branches and give off a fragrance, while the owners of the orchard, Tang Kaifeng and Xia Jun, are checking the growth of the fruit trees. The reporter learned that this base was just built this year, and the figs in the field are also planted in the first year of this year. Although the time is not long, but the hard and difficult work of agriculture has left some marks on their bodies, and the two young men have been tanned.
Tang Kaifeng told reporters that the connection between himself and figs was due to a gathering of friends. "several friends sat together and talked about agriculture. When they mentioned that figs were basically blank in Jiaxing, they had the idea of planting figs." Seeing the business opportunity, Tang Kaifeng found his good friend Xia Jun, and the two hit it off. With the drive of the young people, the two men went to Chiwan Village, Youchagang Town. With the help of Xu Pinghua, director of the village committee, they rented a piece of land and began to try to grow figs. "figs are invested in that year, and picked in that year. For farmers, they are also more suitable for planting, and the risk is not very great." Tang Kaifeng said.
In fact, starting a business is not as simple as it literally appears, and farming is not as straightforward as moving book knowledge to the ground. Although the risk of planting figs is small and effective, difficulties follow at the beginning of starting a business. "at first, the land was not leveled, and the fig seedlings had been transported for some time, so it would not be easy to survive if they were not sown in time, so they would not stop 24 hours a day and plant the seedlings in time." Tang Kaifeng said.
Subsequently, the continuous overcast and rainy weather brought a serious test to the newly planted fig seedlings. The bad weather once made both of them think that the venture was going to end in failure. As a partner, Xia Jun, who was careful, hardly had a good sleep during that period. "every time I hear a loud rain outside the window at night, I have to go to the garden to have a look." "at first, my parents strongly opposed it," Xia said. "they thought it was hard for them to train a college student, but they finally came back to farm, which was difficult for them to accept for a while."
However, they did not give up, but aroused a stronger fighting spirit. Although the weather in Rain Water continued, the careful field management of the two men did not have much impact on their base. At the beginning of August this year, the figs at the base ripened. "the output is OK in the first year, the price is between 8 yuan and 10 yuan per jin, and the yield is about 1000 jin per mu." Tang Kaifeng said.
Then, two small partners, who had never had sales experience, pulled a truckload of goods and came to the farmers' market in Wangjiangjing Town. After more than ten minutes of embarrassment, they finally shouted out their first voice. "I'm too thin-skinned to shout, but I have to sell it. If I don't sell it, it will be unsalable." Tang Kaifeng said that on the first day, more than 50 jin were sold and thousands of pieces were sold, which gave them great motivation. Xia Jun is confident about the future of planting figs: "now that we have planted them, we must plant them well, and we will continue to expand our scale and grow more and more delicious figs."
