Why are fewer and fewer farmers farming the land?
With the orderly development of the rural economy, more and more old farmers have a guarantee of life, and most of the rural families have reached a well-off level. However, most of the income of farmers is earned by working, not from farming. Moreover, over the past two years, the proportion of income from farming has gradually declined, and many farmers have to transfer their land and work outside the country all the year round.
As the saying goes, land is the root of farmers, but now, farmers no longer live by farming. Do you think this is a strange thing? In fact, from the editor's point of view, this is not only a strange thing, but also a hidden danger. Just imagine, most of the post-80s and 90s now do not know how to farm land, but what if there is no one to farm land in rural areas after a few decades? What do we do for a living? Where does the food come from?
To get back to the point, in today's article, let's not discuss the events of a few decades later, we will say now: why are there fewer and fewer farmers farming the land?
1. Low income
Over the past two years, grain prices have been low and low, but they have worked hard to get thousands of yuan in one season. Apart from the costs of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, manpower, time, and so on, there is basically no more than a few hundred yuan per mu of land, and some even lose money on farming. This has led to a continuous decline in the enthusiasm of our farmers to grow grain. Low income has become the primary reason why our farmers are unwilling to cultivate land.
2. High cost
Now, unlike ten years ago, the prices of food and consumption are rising, including agricultural materials. Today's chemical fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural film, seeds and agricultural machinery are much more expensive than before.
For example, my family's wheat needs 200 yuan of chemical fertilizer per mu, but this year my family's average income per mu of wheat is 800 yuan. Excluding the costs of pesticides, ploughing, seeds, refueling, labor, and so on, there is basically no money left.
3. Tired of farming
Since ancient times, farming has been the occupation of our farmers. In the past, there was no mechanized operation, and no matter it was planted or harvested by hand, the crops needed to be carefully taken care of during their growth, and from time to time they needed to go to the fields to see the rising trend of the crops. After planting the land for decades, he still has a problem, and he is not willing to go to the hospital to see a doctor. This is the true portrayal of our old peasants.
However, now the old people in the village are basically unable to do hard work, and the young and strong dislike that the farm work is too tired and go out to work to find a good job. as a result, many crops that look good are not harvested in the end, and most of the arable land is slowly being abandoned.
To sum up, low income, high cost and tiredness of farming are several reasons why farmers are unwilling to continue farming. I sincerely hope that there is any way the country can greatly enhance the enthusiasm of farmers in farming, otherwise, the consequences will be unimaginable.
