Lechang, Guangdong was the last stop of the Red Army's long March through Guangdong. In November 1934, the Red Army entered the five mountains of Lechang, overcame many difficulties, broke through the third blockade set by the enemy here and continued to advance.

Decades later, the spirit of the Red Army continues to shine on the road for the people of Lechang to shake off poverty and become well-off. The "Spark Ecological Agriculture Professional Cooperative" located in Shangli Village, Wushan Town, Lechang is a microcosm.

The breeze is blowing slowly and the rice waves are rolling. Walking in the field trails of the Wushan terraced fields, there are small groups of tourists, the streams flow smoothly, the distant mountains are surrounded by white clouds, and the ecological pictures of pastoral songs are displayed. Relying on this piece of terraced fields, the villagers of seven local natural villages have increased their annual income by tens of thousands of yuan, and the "Red Army field" has become a "rich field", all thanks to Chen Baixiong's "Wushan terraced field owner" project.

"the old people have told us stories about the Red Army since they were young, and they have been influenced by the spirit of the Red Army. I also hope to contribute to the development of my hometown." Chen Baixiong, head of the Spark Ecological Agriculture Professional Cooperative, is from Shixia Village, Wushan Town. He left his hometown in 1996 to work in the Pearl River Delta. When he returned to his hometown in 2013, he saw the current situation of thousands of mu of wasteland and poverty abandoned in the mountains. Chen Baixiong, who is only 37 years old, was very sad and resolutely decided to give up his excellent job in a big city and return to his hometown to start a business.

In 2014, Chen Baixiong rented more than 300 mu of abandoned land from five natural villages in Shixia, reclaimed the wasteland into terraces and planted rice on these terraces. From then on, the beautiful terraces took on a new look. As migrant workers have accumulated rich experience in market operation, Chen Baixiong then set up a professional cooperative of spark ecological agriculture in Wushan Town, Lechang City, and began to use the model of combining the Internet with local superior resources to invigorate agriculture.

The "Wushan terraced pastoral owner" project rents the terraced fields to the residents of the Pearl River Delta, naming the terraced fields "pastoral owners" with the net names of the subscribers, and setting up their own name plates. In this way, the residents of the Pearl River Delta pay to rent the land and give money to the local villagers of the terraced fields to plant and manage the land, so that the local villagers can get lucrative jobs in their hometown, and the pastoral owners can get rest assured of green rice.

Chen Baixiong told the Economic Daily that if the villagers rent the land to the cooperative, they can get a monthly rent of 150 yuan per mu, and take part in the cooperative planting work with a monthly salary of 2000 yuan. With the rise of Wushan terraced fields, more and more tourists are coming to admire the fame, and the sales price and sales volume of local agricultural products have reached a new high. the original sweet potato of 0.5 yuan per jin has been sold for 2 yuan, and if farm music and residential inns are opened again, some villagers can increase their annual income by 30,000 yuan to 40,000 yuan.

The precious wealth left by the Red Army is more than that. Wushan Town is the famous hometown of Phyllostachys pubescens in northern Guangdong, but the utilization rate of economic value of Phyllostachys pubescens is low for a long time. Inspired by the Red Army's use of bamboo to fill water and wine, Zhang Qiuhua, a local veteran, injected the high-quality rice wine into the naturally growing bamboo cavity, so that the wine fully absorbed the water and nutrients of bamboo, and innovated the management of the bamboo tube wine industry. with a new model, the villagers embarked on the road of getting rid of poverty and becoming rich.

As early as 2013, Lechang City put forward a "hematopoietic" poverty alleviation model driven by "cooperatives + bases + farmers" to develop characteristic industries. In 2015, Lechang City has formed a superior industrial belt of 220000 mu of high-quality grain, 50, 000 mu of pollution-free vegetables, 115000 mu of high-quality fruit, 13000 mu of horseshoes, 17000 mu of taro and 18000 mu of yellow tobacco, realizing the industrialization development model dominated by agricultural bases.

Driving away from the river valley beside the mountain road of Wushan Town, you can see small hydropower stations storing water and generating electricity from time to time. Zhang Guangrun, secretary of the party committee of Wushan Town, told the reporter: "our town has a good ecological environment, and the forest coverage rate is as high as 93 percent. There are 56 small hydropower stations built on the four small rivers in transit, with a total installed capacity of 14000 kilowatts, with an annual output value as high as 120 million yuan. It has provided important support for villagers' migrant workers and collective economic development."

"you can see the mountains, you can see the water, and you remember to be homesick." Embracing Jinshan and Silver Mountain in the green mountains and rivers is the true portrayal of Lechang, a small town in northern Guangdong. At that time, the "spark" of the Red Army made the people of Lechang see the hope of becoming masters; today, under the inheritance of the spirit of the long March, the people of Lechang have ignited their passion to get rid of poverty and forge ahead on the broad road of becoming rich and well-off.
