When it comes to leeches (leeches), many people feel creepy when they see them, but there are also people who regard it as a treasure and become rich by raising it. He is Huang Cheng from Weidaoling Village, Shuangliu Village, Shaping Town, Lingshan County, Qinzhou City. this post-90s young man also took the lead in setting up a professional leech breeding cooperative in Lingshan County, driving more than 60 families to join in breeding leeches. Five sub-farms have been established in Lingshan County, Qinzhou City, with a breeding base of 500mu, an annual output of more than 2000 million seedlings and a total output value of more than 5 million yuan.

The courage to start a business

Huang Cheng, who started junior high school in 2006, has begun to earn his own meals. As soon as he has time, he goes to the village to help people move bricks. For every penny, he can earn more than ten yuan after a busy day. Huang Cheng is very happy that he can also make money. Huang Cheng's father had an accident at the construction site in 2007, and his mother's embroidery factory with more than a dozen workers closed down in 2008. The family economy lost its backbone, so that Huang Cheng, who was still in junior high school, experienced the difficulties of life and honed his strong will at the same time. In 2009, in order to go to Hepu Health School, Huang Cheng had to deliver couriers and take odd jobs to earn tuition fees during the summer vacation. Life did not improve until Huang Cheng graduated from Hepu Health School in 2011 and came to work in the second drug rehabilitation center in Guangxi. But the regular commute makes Huang Cheng feel that his job is not suitable for him. He always wants to realize the life he wants to live by starting his own business while he is young.

In fact, Huang Cheng, who was still in school in 2010, has begun to have the idea of starting his own business. Huang Cheng majored in clinical laboratory at Hepu Health School. He knew the efficacy and function of all kinds of organisms very well, especially the leeches attracted Huang Cheng's attention.

Huang Cheng has extensively collected information about leech breeding technology and sales market through the Internet, and knows that the current leech market has broad sales prospects, short breeding cycle, low risk and quick cost recovery, so it is a valuable animal traditional Chinese medicine. In recent years, the market demand for dried leeches has been rising, and the price has also been rising, from a few hundred yuan to more than 1,000 yuan now. Huang Cheng began to realize that leech breeding is a way to get rich. so in 2011, he made up his mind to quit his job in the second drug rehabilitation center in Guangxi and returned to his hometown to start his own business.

Go through the hardships of raising leeches

On the way to starting a business, there are always setbacks, and Huang Cheng's leech farming is no exception. At the beginning of starting a business, Huang Cheng faced two major problems: one is the lack of funds, the other is the lack of experience and technology.

"my relatives and friends don't understand, and some villagers are cynical. In order to raise funds for the purchase of vermiculite seedlings, I went everywhere to borrow relatives, classmates, friends, and even teachers. It took a lot of effort to raise 18000 yuan in funds for the purchase of vermiculite seedlings. " When talking about the hardships of starting a business, Huang Cheng still remembers it vividly.

Due to lack of experience and skills, Huang fell into a big somersault. In July 2011, with the money he had worked so hard to raise, Huang Cheng came to Jiangsu and finally bought the most precious thing in his heart-vermiculite seedlings. The vermiculite seedlings were bought, but due to the hot weather, long distance and poor nursing, they returned to their hometown and died nearly 60%. The rest are also because of inadequate preparation, aquaculture management technology is not mature enough, and few survived. Looking at the dead leeches, Huang Cheng could not help but shed tears. Fortunately, the 18000 yuan he had raised so hard went down the drain.

The experience of the first failure taught Huang Cheng a good lesson, and he also fumbled out a more scientific breeding method.

After experiencing the first lesson, Huang Cheng devoted himself to studying the transportation of leeches, testing water temperature, water depth, and disease prevention and control techniques, went to major leech farmers in Jiangsu, Anhui, Guangdong, and other places for many times, and found ways to breed leeches and found technical methods to overcome the difficulties of leech growth, seedling breeding, disease prevention and so on. In July 2012, he borrowed another 30,000 yuan from relatives and joined a leech farming cooperative in Foshan, Guangdong, where he bought more than 80,000 vermiculite seedlings in one go. With the support of technology, most of the leech seedlings survived this time. Huang Cheng made a profit of more than 30,000 yuan this year, earning the first bucket of gold in his life, making Huang Cheng more confident in breeding leeches.

Drive the masses to become rich

Over the past few years, after continuous exploration and hard work, Huang Cheng's leech breeding scale has been expanding, and the site has gradually developed from a few mu to more than 30 mu, with an annual net income of more than 300,000 yuan. Products are exported to Beijing, Anhui, Chongqing, Yulin and other well-known pharmaceutical companies. Huang Cheng, who successfully started a business, did not immerse himself in joy. on the basis of a solid scale and with reference to the business model of other places, he implemented hierarchical management of farmers and unified recovery of finished products through the new management system of "cooperatives + breeding farms + farmers". In order to achieve a larger scale of industrial breeding, constantly lengthen the industrial chain, in order to seek more profit growth points.

Huang Cheng tasted the success of raising leeches and did not forget the masses in his hometown. In September last year, the leeches professional breeding cooperative in Lingshan County, led by him, was officially established. When the masses saw the success of Huang Cheng's farming, they dispelled their previous worries and asked to join the cooperative.

Huang Zhijie, a handsome 22-year-old man, saw Huang Cheng's success as if he saw hope, and quickly joined the cooperative. As Huang Zhijie does not have a lot of funds, he only breeds 4 mu of leeches. In order to enable Huang Zhijie to embark on the road of prosperity faster, Huang Cheng not only gave him technical guidance, but also provided him with stone snails for breeding free of charge. "I am very grateful to Brother Huang Cheng for his help. He made me see that living in a house and driving a car is not a dream." Huang Zhijie said excitedly.

In order to drive more farmers to participate in the industrial cultivation of leeches, so that more people become rich together. Huang Cheng plans to repackage a piece of land next year, tidy up the pond, set up the cage, and then contract the cage to the farmers and provide technical guidance free of charge. "I hope that through the model of" cooperatives + breeding farms + farmers ", we can do our part to make all the farmers in our cooperatives rich." When talking about goals, Huang Cheng is full of confidence.
