Wu Haishan said that he successively visited honey pomelo bases in Haikou, Danzhou, Lingao, Wuzhishan and other places, and found that honey pomelo is easy to grow and easy to manage, has low technical requirements, has strong wind resistance, and is resistant to storage, and the market situation in Hainan is good and the listing time in Hainan is about a month earlier than that in the mainland, which has great potential.

He found on the Internet that Sanhong honey pomelo was not only beautiful in shape and better in quality, but also more popular in the market, so he immediately went to Pinghe County in Fujian Province, which is rich in Sanhong honey pomelo. "in one county, they planted more than 1.3 million mu of Sanhong honey pomelo, and the market price is 60 yuan, and they still have a good market." Wu Haishan was very excited and more confident.

He calculated an account: Sanhong honey pomelo can enter a high yield period in the fifth year after planting, and the yield per plant can reach 200 jin. According to the average of 50 plants per mu, the yield per mu can reach 10,000 jin. According to the current market price, the net income per mu can easily exceed 10,000 yuan. "the output of honey pomelo will also increase with the age of the tree, so it is a veritable 'cash cow'."

In October of that year, Wu Haishan organized village cadres and villagers' representatives to visit Pinghe, took a large number of pictures and videos, and brought back hundreds of grapefruit to be distributed to the villagers to taste.

At the end of November 2014, the first batch of 300 mu honey pomelo trees were planted in Daocong village. In order to promote the standardized production of honey pomelo, in June this year, Wu Haishan launched the Daodao Red Honey Pomelo Professional Cooperative, which was joined by all 48 farmers in Eryu Village, the Daochong Village Committee. Today, Eryu Village honey pomelo planting scale of 1250 mu, Eryu honey pomelo planting base has become a provincial agricultural standardization industrial park.

Today, the planting area of honey pomelo in Daocong Village has reached 2500 mu, and villagers interplant short-term crops such as Huaishan, pineapple, sweet potato, sand ginger, sesame and so on.
