In early autumn, when I walked into the mushroom planting shed in Beigou Village, No. 8 Town, Yushu City, I saw rows of edible mushroom bags placed neatly, and clusters of fresh, tender and thick mushrooms sticking out of the mushroom bags, full of vitality. "these bacterial bags are made from corncobs previously burned by farmers, which are both economical and environmentally friendly." Zhang Yunfeng, head of edible mushroom greenhouse film industry, said.

By adopting a new planting model, Zhang Yunfeng made bacterial bags with corncob and chicken manure instead of wheat bran and chemical fertilizer, and the cost was reduced, and the mushrooms planted were naturally green without pesticide and fertilizer residues. "the cost of making bacterial bags with corncobs is about 20% lower than before, and the output has increased slightly. After the cost comes down, we have an advantage in seizing the market. " Zhang Yunfeng told reporters that with the advantages of quality and price, the sales of mushrooms in Changchun, Harbin and other places quickly "spread out."

When it comes to making bacterial bags with corncobs and chicken dung, the process is not so smooth. "the cost of making bacterial bags from wheat bran and fertilizer is getting higher and higher every year, so I started experimenting with switching to corncobs and farm manure. At that time, there was a pile of experimental chicken dung in my garden, which smelled so bad that the villagers walked around. " Zhang Yunfeng said with a smile that in order to experiment with the new bacterial bag, he specially designated an area in the greenhouse to carry out the experiment, but through the comparison of the income, the mushroom yield of the bacterial bag using corncob was lower, and the effect was not ideal.

Zhang Yunfeng did not give up. By consulting materials and going to other places to study, he finally found the crux of the problem: the improper proportion of raw materials, and the ammonia produced by chicken manure inhibited the growth of mycelium, affecting the production of mushrooms. The problem was easily solved. By pre-treating chicken manure and adjusting the proportion of raw materials, he successfully made a mushroom bag suitable for mushroom planting. "now each bacterial bag can reduce the cost by 30 cents, and we can save more than 200,000 yuan on raw materials alone, and the overall benefit has been significantly improved." Zhang Yunfeng worked out an economic account for us.

Today, 24 greenhouses in Daoyangshantun have adopted this new planting model, with a daily production of 24000 kg of edible fungi at its peak, and the local waste corncob has also turned waste into a treasure and become a "sweet cake". "I am going to set up a mushroom planting cooperative to let more people learn to apply this new technology and lead the villagers to become rich together." Thinking about the future, Zhang Yunfeng is full of expectation and self-confidence.
