The "formula" of farmers' self-made sheep raising in Huanxian County, Gansu Province drives the villagers to "make a fortune".
In early autumn, Su Xuefeng, a villager from Xueyuan Village, Huan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, was putting away the corn straw one by one. He told reporters that this was the main "food rations" for sheep after autumn.
Huanxian County, which is located in the hilly and gully region of the Loess Plateau, is the county with the largest poverty area and the deepest poverty level in Qingyang City. Local farmers have always had the tradition of raising sheep. After Su Xuefeng retired from the army, he went home to work in agriculture, and "farming and raising sheep" also became his main livelihood.
"my parents have raised sheep for most of their lives, but they are still living a tight life." Su Xuefeng began to try to make money by raising sheep to change the poverty situation.
"small trial Niudao" began with Su Xuefeng's father raising more than 70 sheep, "stocking to captivity, mixed breeding to classification, from single alfalfa forage to mixed forage." A year later, there was a smile on Su Xuefeng's face. The lamb he raised weighed 35 kilograms in five months, making it a "hot cake" in the market.
In September 2011, Su Xuefeng learned from the data that the fattening effect of corn bar silage technology is obvious. He did not hesitate to try at once. The following year, he raised sheep and sold more than 300 sheep with a net income of 140000 yuan, of which four sheep sold nearly 30,000 yuan, creating a local "myth" that the price of sheep was higher than that of cattle. Su Xuefeng suddenly became a "star" of raising sheep in the village, and the villagers came to ask for advice.
"with the original feed, you have to add 2 jin of concentrate every day, and you only need to add half a jin of silage grass with corn sticks." Su Xuefeng shared this successful experience with the surrounding villagers. "separate captivity, food ration, feed formula, not only fattening speed, but also save time and materials." Su Xuefeng's experience in raising sheep is called "Su's recipe" by the villagers. This formula brought Su Xuefeng an annual income of 300000 yuan from raising sheep, and he became rich by raising sheep.
In helping the villagers raise sheep, Su Xuefeng is "obedient" to his wife. Su Xuefeng's wife, Guo Hongxia, became a volunteer publicist to publicize the experience of raising sheep and getting rich to the villagers. Su Xuecong, a villager, came to learn from the classics. after a month of standardized feeding and screening, his nine sheep were sold at a price 4 yuan higher than the market price per jin. Su learned to make a living only by working in the same village. in 2011, Guo Hongxia advised him to farm and raise sheep and lend him seven sheep. In a few years, Su learned to keep more than 80 sheep, and his family had savings, built a new house and bought a farm tractor.
"determining livestock with grass, reducing costs, selecting improved breeds, fine management, and rapid fencing," Su Xuefeng summed up three successful models for raising sheep. Many farmers have an average annual income of more than 100000 yuan. Su's formula has become the "secret of getting rich" for sheep farmers in Xue Yuan Village, and Su Xuefeng has become the most authoritative "technical adviser."
In 2015, the price of mutton remained in the doldrums, and farmers hovered between "selling and raising". While many farmers lost money to sell sheep, the income of sheep farmers in Xueyuan village in Shancheng and urban areas was increasing. At present, all the 212 farmers in the two farming cooperatives in Xue Yuan Village use "Su's formula" to raise sheep, with more than 7900 sheep in stock, with more than 30 in each household, forming a sheep industry chain of "cooperatives + large households + scattered households". Driven by this leading industry, Xueyuan Village achieved overall poverty alleviation.
