Tiandong County, Baise, Guangxi is the country's largest mango production base, the base has a "mango talent"-Xiangzhou Town Jiuhe Village villager Li Shisong. Li Shisong, 50, who has nearly 30 years of mango planting experience, can be said to be the longest and most experienced mango grower in Tiandong County.

"I used to farm and run a small business, and finally I fell in love with a mango, and this one has been for decades." Li Shisong told reporters that precisely because of his mango complex, he not only lifted his family out of poverty early and became rich, but also lifted many villagers around them out of poverty by playing the role of "passing on and helping".

In 1989, when he saw a lot of wasteland in his village's production team, Li Shisong, who was familiar with Tiandong's geographical and climatic advantages, came up with the idea of planting mangoes. He rented 20 mu of land in the production team for 200 yuan to grow ivory No. 22 mango. However, due to the low unit price and limited profits of mango at that time, many people gradually gave up planting mango, and only Li Shisong persisted in this line.

In 1997, Li Shisong's mango orchard was already on a large scale, with more and more fruits hanging, and the price of fruit soared to 2.4 yuan / kg. Li Shisong, who first tasted the sweetness, transferred all 50 mu of land to the non-local boss, and in 2003 he came to the Baise veteran bureau fruit farm to contract 200 mu of land. He cut down the old mango tree in the orchard, grafted it again, and transferred the orchard out again two years later. After two mango orchards, Li Shisong returned to Jiuhe Village in 2007, rented 20 mu of 700 mango trees and grafted them with golden mango. In 2014, he rented more than 100 mu of land in Xiangzhou Forest Farm and grafted Gui Qimang and Yuwen Mang. At this point, Li Shisong's orchard finally stabilized.

In 2014, as he took a fancy to Li Shisong's rich mango grafting and management skills, Zhuangxiang River Valley Group specially invited him to serve as the technical director of the enterprise, responsible for managing 10,000 mu of mango base. He gave full play to his talents on this base and grafted and replaced all the original fruit trees. the main varieties were Taiwan farmers, red ivory, red imperial concubines, red jade awn, golden awn, Gui Qi, Kate mango, Yuwen mango, and so on. It is expected that the new variety will be put into production in three years. After it is put into production, the yield of each tree will be 10 kg higher than that of the original, and it will enter the period of high yield after six years.

Since 2007, Li Shisong has kept farm records every year and often turns over the old ones to compare the temperature and temperature changes to see when it is time to pick flowers and apply medicine. Through continuous practical accumulation, Li Shisong summed up a set of rich theoretical experience.

It is also an important experience of Li Shisong to master the weather change if he has the technology. The sudden cold weather at the beginning of this year dealt a blow to farmers who adopted extensive management-only 10 jin of fruit per tree or even no harvest. On the other hand, Li Shisong produced an average of 50 kg of fruit per tree through timely flower picking, spraying, promoting flowers, preventing diseases and insect pests and other measures. "Fine management can make mangoes have higher fruit hanging rate, better selling phase and higher commodity rate." Li Shisong said, for example, the profit per mu of Yuwenmang can reach 3000 yuan, and that of Taiwan farmers can reach 2000 yuan per mu, which is generally 1 to 5 times higher than that of ordinary farmers.

Today, Li Shisong, who has been promoted to technical director of the group, has given various training to thousands of farmers in Xiangzhou Town and surrounding towns over the past two years. In 2014, he also founded the Fuze Mango Cooperative and served as its chairman. So far, the cooperative has developed more than 20 members, and the mango planting area will reach 2000 mu. The implementation of one-stop production and marketing will further drive more farmers out of poverty in the future.
