Dig the soil, dig the nest, sow the seed. Recently, in Ping'an Village, Lengshuiguan Township, Nanchuan District, villagers are busy sowing autumn seeds. This year, 400 mu of rouge carrots are planted in the village to help villagers shake off poverty and become rich.

Pingan Village is one of the 40 poverty-stricken villages in Nanchuan, with a population of 1632, including 64 poor households. Villagers have a tradition of growing rouge carrots, but in the past, most of them ate or used as feed, and few people sold them as cash crops. Last year, village cadres solicited opinions on the development of poverty alleviation industries. 90% of the villagers were willing to plant rouge carrots, and the whole village planted 200 mu on a trial basis. At the end of the year, the harvest was 600000 jin, bringing an income of 216000 yuan to the villagers.

After tasting the sweetness, this year, many villagers asked to continue to plant, and some farmers who did not plant last year also participated, expanding the planting scale to 400 mu, planting rouge carrots, mainly used to extract food pigment. In order to better develop the industry, the village has set aside 150000 yuan to harden and widen the farming roads of continuous planting bases to facilitate farming and transportation. seeds and fertilizers are solved by the village industrial funds, and 20 jin of fertilizer is subsidized per jin of seeds. and invite technicians for free guidance and training.

How to solve the problem of marketing? "We carry out order planting." Cai Shaojuan, the "first secretary" of Ping'an Village, said that at the beginning of the year, the village committee signed a purchase order with an enterprise in Fuling, which bought all the carrots grown in the village and provided technology free of charge.

"the order stipulates a floor price of 0.31 yuan per catty. If the price is high, it will go with the market, and the village will subsidize 0.05 yuan per catty." Cai Shaojuan said that with a guaranteed floor price, even if the market is in the doldrums, acquirers cannot reduce prices at will, and growers will not affect their income because of market changes.
