When I came to the Luoyongde mountain forest farm in Jianshan Village, Banka Township, Yongde County, the genial sun shone through the leaves, but I heard the sound of chickens from time to time. Not far away, several brightly colored native chickens are leisurely looking for food in the forest.

With Luo Yongde's whistle, a bag of corn was spilled out, and groups of country chickens rushed from trees, slopes and woods to scramble for the delicious food scattered on the ground. "these black-bone chickens are released and fed to Baogu sooner or later, and the rest of the time they peck at the Cordyceps sinensis on the ground." While throwing food, Luo Yongde told us that the more chicken exercise, the stronger the resistance and the healthier it will be.

Luo Yongde, 36, is a smart and capable man. Before that, he ran transportation and worked. "I worked in a broiler farm in Anning, Kunming, and learned the techniques of broiler breeding and epidemic prevention. With the improvement of people's living standards, more and more people are pursuing green consumption. It is thought that we are located in the buffer zone of the National Great Snow Mountain Nature Reserve, with vast woodland and beautiful mountains and rivers, and it must be beneficial to raise native chickens. " Luo Yongde stated the original intention of raising chickens.

In 2013, Luo Yongde returned to Banka's hometown Jianshan Village to cultivate mountain black-bone chickens under the forest, which attracted the great attention of the township party committee and township government, and helped him win support funds of more than 300,000 yuan from various departments at the county level, built more than 600 square meters of chicken coops, bought two incubators, set up production and household electricity, pulled up a fence in his 120 mu of woodland, and bought excellent mountain black-bone chickens everywhere. Luo Yongde's forest farm officially set sail.

Luo Yongde is meticulous in every step of raising mountain black-bone chickens in the forest, including seed selection, hatching, epidemic prevention and disinfection. Due to meticulous care, management in place, and the environment of fresh air in the woodland, continuous streams in the forest, and pollution-free natural ecological forest, the mountain black-bone chickens freely feed on grass seeds, insects and traditional Chinese medicine scattered under the forest, and drink natural mountain spring water, plus regular supplementary feeding of grains and miscellaneous grains, the chicken has a wide range of activities, but only grows well.

Luo Yongde's black-bone chicken takes about 6 months from seedling to fencing, and the time of finished chicken is more than 3 months longer than that of ordinary feed chicken, but because of its excellent growth environment, solid muscle, low fat content and delicious taste, the finished chicken is popular with restaurants and consumers in Baoshan, Lincang and county towns. In 2015, the scale of black-bone chickens reached 14000, and the income from the sale of black-bone chickens and finished chickens reached 1.2 million yuan, with a net income of more than 300000 yuan.

"We are going to invest more than 1 million yuan to buy six incubators, hatch 360000 high-quality chicken seedlings a year, and achieve a net income of more than 1 million yuan from the sale of chicken seedlings, finished chickens and eggs." Luo Yongde said.

It is not the ability to be rich by yourself. Luo Yongde also led more than 10 other villagers in Banka Township, including Lu Xiaoliang and Yang Shangyi, to raise mountain black-bone chickens under the forest, with an annual income of about 100000 yuan. "after ploughing the land for most of my life, I still don't have enough to eat and wear. I didn't expect that the Xiao Luo brothers bulged our pockets as soon as they came back." Yang Shangyi, a 60-year-old villager, said affectionately, "Brothers Xiao Luo can measure. I heard that I also want to breed under the forest, and enthusiastically taught me the technique of raising mountain black-bone chickens under the forest." Last year, Yang Shangyi's family sold nearly 4000 mountain black-bone chickens, with a net income of more than 90000 yuan.

"the market is large enough to supply, and the market has risks to be controlled." In the interview, Banka Township Party Committee Secretary Cha Yuan Ke said, "drawing lessons from the successful experience of raising ecological black-bone chickens under Luo Yongde forest, the Banka township party committee and government plan to focus on supporting 10 households with an annual stock of more than 10000 birds and an annual income of more than 100000 yuan, establish and improve under-forest farming associations, achieve product-supermarket docking, achieve brand trees, scale, and expand the market, so as to help the whole township out of poverty."
