Xu Xiqing, 58, is a retired village cadre in Dalihu Village, Shiqiaozi Town, Zhucheng City. At the age of 40, he was found to have osteonecrosis of the femoral head and had no choice but to resign and start a pig farm. Today, Xu Xiqing's Kanglebao pig farm has achieved an annual income of more than 2 million yuan, with more than 1500 pigs a year, with a total construction area of about 4700 square meters, making it the largest pig farm in the town.

At the age of 40, Xu Xiqing suddenly found osteonecrosis of the femoral head, which was a bolt from the blue for him, both old and young. Xu Xiqing resigned from the village and opened a hotel in partnership, but the hotel was soon closed. After being confused, he cheered up again, through multi-party inspection, learned that the pig market is good, determined to engage in pig farming. In 2005, he rented an abandoned primary school in Xiangzhou Town, Zhucheng City, and started his own business.

Xu Xiqing feeds pigs during the day and delves into breeding techniques at night. At first, I had no experience, but when I checked out at the end of the year, I found that I didn't make any money at all. But he does not admit defeat, find out the reasons, will not consult others, while paying attention to the market situation, according to the demand to control the number of pigs, so his business is getting better and better. Five years later, Xu Xiqing accumulated some money, and in order to take care of his elderly mother, he returned to the village in 2011 and set up a pig farm in the village. He continued to introduce fine breeds of breeding pigs, and at the same time, with the help of the state's preferential policies for rural farming and for the disabled, the farm was booming.

However, starting a business cannot be plain sailing. The weak pig market in 2013, coupled with the lack of epidemic prevention measures, killed more than 260 pigs in Xu Xiqing's pig farm, resulting in a loss of 220000 yuan and nearly 100000 yuan in 2014. He gritted his teeth and looked for a way out of the predicament. Finally, he ushered in the spring of the pig market in 2015, and now his pig farm has produced 1500 pigs a year, with an annual income of more than 2 million yuan.

Led by Xu Xiqing, more than 100 pig farmers have been developed in the village, and a professional cooperative for pig farming has been set up in the village. With the continuous expansion of the scale and number of pig farming in their village and the strengthening of their influence, many large slaughterhouses take the initiative to call to make an appointment for purchase, which solves the worries of pig sales.
