Yunnan people like to eat chili peppers, ingredients, fried, boiled, pickled, it can be said to eat a variety of ways. However, in the river valley of Mohei Town, Ning'er County, Yunnan Province, there is a kind of chili pepper that birds also like to eat, which has been artificially cultivated locally and has risen to the top of the list of the most expensive chili peppers in Yunnan.

The reporter recently saw the most expensive chili pepper in Mohei town. Small sparrow spicy, the fruit is small, about 1 cm long, because birds eat fruit after excretion spread, the local people call it spicy sparrow.

It was Luo Qionglan, chairman of the local Mengyejiang company, who discovered and promoted the pepper.

The picture shows that farmers are picking sparrows and spices.

In 1996, Luo Qionglan's boyfriend Zhou Jianwei contracted a project by the side of the river in Ning'er. She also often went to the construction site to visit her boyfriend and casually cook a meal for the workers. Once, Luo Qionglan suddenly found a big chili tree near the shed, 3 meters high, bearing a lot of chili. Luo Qionglan picked one to eat and found that it was even more fragrant, crisp and spicy than millet. Luo Qionglan took this kind of chili pepper to cook for the workers, and everyone thought it tasted very good.

When she left, Luo Qionglan picked some and took them to the street to sell. At that time, ordinary chili peppers sold for about two yuan a kilogram, while the little sparrow she brought was sold for 40 yuan a kilogram.

Because of grinding underground industrial salt, the local has always had the habit of making pickled products. The shrewd Luo Qionglan discovered this business opportunity and began her entrepreneurial journey.

At first, Luo Qionglan went everywhere to find villagers to buy spicy sparrows, and then processed them into pickled products and sold them again. To her surprise, "the spicy sparrows, which she bought for 80,000 yuan for the first time, sold for more than 200,000 yuan."

Business is getting better and better, Luo Qionglan and her husband set up a factory in the county. But the problems that followed almost made her give up her career. In 2010, she bought more than 40 tons of spicy finches, but due to the increase in production, the technology failed to keep up, and the spicy finches were almost completely marinated and lost 800000 yuan at a time.

The picture shows a small and spicy growth.

Luo Qionglan realized that only technological breakthroughs could expand her business, so she began to study pickling methods with the technical team. In 2011, Luo Qionglan succeeded in not only paying off the debt, but also building a new factory by the riverside where the sparrow spicy grows. What pleases Luo Qionglan most is that she also applied for a patent for the bubble process invention of Little Sparrow spicy.

Because of the growing demand for Xiaoxiaolan, Luo Qionglan has also set up local rural cooperatives, which raise seedlings, provide free planting to farmers from February to April, provide technical guidance, and carry out acquisitions from June to December. Luo Qionglan said, "this can not only ensure the supply of our raw materials, but also enable local farmers to lift themselves out of poverty and become rich."

Luo Qionglan promised the villagers, "in any case, I will buy it at the price of 22 yuan per kilogram, and there will be some preference for poor filing and credit cards."

Now, Luo Qionglan's Xiaoxiaolan has been sold everywhere, and she has set up an e-commerce platform to achieve sales. According to the standard of 150 grams per bottle, a bottle of sparrow spicy is more than 10 yuan on the market. Luo Qionglan told reporters, "unique raw materials, coupled with secret processing, this should be the most expensive pepper in Yunnan!"

The local government has also made great efforts to popularize the small sparrow spicy planting as one of the channels to increase farmers' income, popularizing the artificial cultivation technology in many villages and towns in Ning'er County. At present, there are more than 2000 local farmers planting small sparrow spicy.

In addition to chili peppers, Luo Qionglan also pickles wood ginger, sauerkraut, sea boats and other special products, so some people jokingly call her Yunnan "Lao Gan Ma". Luo Qionglan said, "there is still a big gap from this goal, but I still have great confidence in the future."

Luo Qionglan told reporters, "at present, I am planning to build a chili-themed manor, including a sightseeing tour of sparrow spicy planting, a chili banquet and a multimedia exhibition center for chili culture."

Luo Qionglan said with a smile, "raise a few more birds and let everyone see how the birds eat chili peppers."
