Recently, the author came to the quail farm founded by Zhang Huaming, a young man who returned to his hometown in Longxing Village, Daifang Town, Le'an County, for an interview. Before he entered the farm, he heard a "chirping" quail cry. Zhang Huaming, who is picking up quail eggs, said happily: "Quail farming can be said to be very suitable for the breeding industry of ordinary farmers, with small investment, fast growth, short cycle and broad market prospects. This year, the 30,000 quails I raise can make a net profit of more than 100,000 yuan just by selling eggs. Coupled with the sale of old quails with a low laying rate at the end of the year, it can bring a profit of nearly 200000 yuan a year. "

After graduating from high school, Zhang Huaming, 39, devoted himself to the green barracks with warm blood. Eight years of life in the barracks has become a valuable asset in his life. After leaving the army, he did business with his friends in Ningbo, Wenzhou and other places in Zhejiang Province. with the spirit of hard work and integrity, his business became more and more prosperous, and he also dug up the "first bucket of gold" in his life.

After several years of hard work, Zhang Huaming, who has made small achievements in overseas business, aims at the vast space for development in the rural areas. in 2015, he resolutely gave up his thriving business and returned to his hometown to raise quails. "over the years, I have a dream of returning home to start a business," he said. When I returned to my hometown during the Spring Festival last year, I conducted a market survey in Le'an to find a suitable start-up project. Through the investigation, I found that Le'an 's quail market is currently in a blank, the market potential is huge. I saw this business opportunity to go back to my hometown to raise quails. "

In order to master quail breeding techniques, Zhang Huaming went to the nearby Fengcheng quail breeding base to study at his own expense, and soon mastered a series of quail breeding techniques such as feeding, medication, disinfection, vaccination, and so on. In October 2015, Zhang Huaming invested 380000 yuan to build two standardized farming greenhouses in the mountain behind his house, purchased trucks, ultraviolet lights, heaters and other breeding equipment, and bought back the first batch of more than 30, 000 quail seedlings from Fengcheng in November of that year. Zhang Huaming also became the first quail farmer in Le'an County.

It is the first step that costs troublesome. Since the establishment of the quail farm, Zhang Huaming has devoted himself to quail farming, mixing feed, feeding, cleaning dung, epidemic prevention, taking good care of quail seedlings, and working alone day and night. His wife saw it in her eyes and felt pain in her heart, so she took the initiative to give up the comfortable life in the city and resolutely followed him back to his hometown Longxing Village to raise quails. Speaking of his wife Zhang Guohong, Zhang Huaming said affectionately, "feeding quail is dirty and tiring. Although my wife has never done farm work before, she does not dislike it in order to support my career. When she comes back from the city to help with farming, I am very moved."

After more than three months of breeding, the little quail began to lay eggs. Today, 30, 000 quails can lay more than 350 kilograms of eggs every day, with a daily income of more than 3000 yuan. quail eggs are not only supplied to Le'an market, but also sold to the surrounding places such as Yonfeng, Chongren, Yihuang and Fengcheng.

In order to develop and strengthen the quail industry and drive the vast number of villagers to shake off poverty and become rich, in May this year, Zhang Huaming summoned 12 peasant households to set up a professional quail cooperative in Le'an County, taking the development path of "cooperative + base + peasant household". In addition, Zhang Huaming arranged for villagers Nie Chunhe and other poor families to work in the farm at a salary of 80 yuan a day, responsible for feeding, picking up eggs, cleaning dung and other work. For villagers who want to engage in farming, he unreservedly teaches technology, credits seedlings, and helps sell quail eggs. In August this year, Gong Hailang, a farmer from Tuoshang Village, Gongfang Town, went to the cooperative to learn farming techniques. Zhang Huaming taught him hand in hand. Today, Gong Hailang raises 12000 quails. In this regard, Gong Hailang said gratefully: "I was able to embark on the quail breeding road, thanks to Huaming's help and drive."

Talking about future development, Zhang Huaming said proudly that in the future, he will continue to expand the scale of farming, expand sales channels, and rely on cooperatives to help more farmers shake off poverty and become rich.
