Li Dong, a villager of the second group of Lianwen Village, Banchang Town, Yanhe Autonomous County, has opened up a way to get rich in rural areas and realized his entrepreneurial dream in recent years, from aquaculture to planting. At the same time, it was rated as "Top Ten Entrepreneurship Youth" by the county this year.

After graduating from junior high school in 2006, Li Dong went out to work and found tens of thousands of yuan in savings. But he knows that a part-time job is not his ideal way in life.

When he returned home in 2010, he opened a small shop selling wire and switch materials, and undertook some hotel and private appliance installation work. Over the past year, due to customer arrears of material fees, resulting in capital turnover, although there is no loss, but also did not make money. He thought that going on like this would not only make no money, but also waste time.

Through repeated thinking and understanding in the surrounding market, he learned that the current price of ginger is considerable, which can be sold for more than 10 yuan per kilogram, so he decided to develop the ginger industry in the village.

In order to coordinate the development of land smoothly, and to talk to the cadres of the two committees of the village branch about the idea of growing ginger, the village cadres were very happy and encouraged him to take the lead in the planting industry, and the village was responsible for helping him coordinate and solve the land problem.

Ran Qigang, a member of the village committee, said: our village has a large area of poverty, a large number of poor people, and young people have the idea of starting a business, and the village will strongly support it. Through young people to start a business, drive everyone to get rich together.

Just do it. In 2014, Li Dong leased 10 mu of land to grow ginger through a lease fee of 300 yuan per mu from local villagers. The harvest was good that year, with a profit of more than 20,000 yuan.

Li Dong tasted the sweetness of growing ginger in his first year. Last year, he began to expand the planting scale, invested 180000 yuan and planted more than 100 mu with a bumper harvest. He was secretly happy.

As a result, to his surprise, the market price of ginger plummeted soon after it was put on the market, and a large amount of ginger could not be sold, which was about to be damaged. In order to minimize the loss, he asked the villagers to dig a cellar in the village to store the ginger. After a period of time, Rain Water infiltrated the cellar due to rain, causing most of the ginger to be damaged, resulting in a loss of nearly 100000 yuan.

"the ability to grow ginger is a profitable industry, but because of its weak economic strength and poor storage technology, it has led to losses. But I will not give up. I will continue to plant. Entrepreneurship will not be plain sailing, only towards their own customized goals, continuous efforts and sum up experience, will be outstanding and make money on the entrepreneurial road! " Li Dong said. In the cultivation of ginger, although Li Dong lost money, the local people got a real benefit, because the base workers have a wage income.

Li Chengwu, a villager in his 70s, said that before Li Dong planted ginger, he looked after his grandson or planted vegetables in front and back of the house every year without any economic income. Now he works in the ginger base every day, earning 80 yuan a day and several thousand yuan a year, which has solved the family's pocket money.

In order to strengthen his own industry, Li Dong also registered the "Donglian breeding Farmers' specialized Cooperative" in Tujia Autonomous County along the River, with the aim of allowing more young people to join the stock and develop together.

Now that he has a cooperative, he is more confident in developing the industry. Last year, not only ginger was planted, but also more than 5000 chickens of different kinds were raised. When it comes to farming, he talks a lot. Because he thinks that raising chickens is more sure to make money than growing ginger.

This year, the ginger he planted was hit by drought and the harvest was very small. On the contrary, chickens and eggs sell well. "if you don't raise chickens this year and just grow ginger, life will be very difficult," he said. He invested more than 200,000 yuan to build chicken farms, enough young chickens, and raised a total of 8600 native chickens and guinea fowls. Among them, 5600 were native chickens, 2000 were guinea fowls and 1000 were black chickens. So far, eggs and chickens have been sold a total of more than 400,000 yuan. It is expected to achieve an annual output value of more than 1 million yuan this year.

It is difficult to start a business, but it is even more difficult to keep it. In order to ensure the efficiency of breeding and planting, he gets up early in the morning and works late at night every day, eating and living in a makeshift shed next to the chicken farm, raising nursing chickens while looking for some books on breeding techniques to master more breeding techniques.

"only by mastering aquaculture technology can aquaculture be successful. As long as you stick to it, you will certainly realize your values and dreams on the way of breeding and planting. " Li Dong said.
