Villagers have long raised a small number of livestock as their economic source. In recent years, with the support of policies, the village has increased investment to boost the development of breeding industry, so that many villagers have embarked on the road to prosperity. Zhang Shouming, a poor household, is one of them. Through his own efforts, he not only got rid of the label of poor households, but also paid off 200,000 foreign debts next year.

Poverty and illness make family life difficult

" If we don't watch them, they'll rush to grab them. Some piglets won't be able to eat. In fact, one nipple is more than enough for a pig. We have to watch them all the time." Recently, Zhang Shouming is guarding piglets in the pigsty to drink milk, watching a litter of piglets scrambling to suck milk in the heart is very gratified.

Speaking of his working experience in Zhejiang, Zhang Shouming's face showed some pride. In the past, a man worked in Hangzhou alone. His annual income of 70,000 yuan or 80,000 yuan could enable this man to support a family and support four old people at the same time. This is a very difficult thing.

However, such a decent day did not last long.

Zhang Shouming's wife suffered from gynecological problems, and the high cost of treatment brought huge expenses to the family, which had a heavy burden of living. The family began to fall into the predicament of poverty due to illness and put on the label of "poor household". The wife's health is weak and she can only take care of the children at home without financial resources. Children who are attending school also need a lot of expenses. This situation has brought trouble to the "pillar" of this uprooted family.

Carefully planning to return home to start a business and create a turning point

Zhang Shouming thought for a long time, in order to take care of his family, he finally made up his mind, with his remaining 80,000 yuan savings, in November 2014 one day set foot on the journey home. Through a series of preliminary preparations, he used the money to open a small-scale pig farm and opened his own entrepreneurial path.

"Raising pigs isn't easy, there's a lot of learning involved!" Zhang Shouming smiled and said, Fortunately, there were pigs in the early years of the family, he was influenced by childhood, personally worked, accumulated a lot of experience.

"The most fundamental purpose of developing pig breeding is to continuously increase the number of live pigs and improve their quality so as to meet people's needs for pork products. In the development of breeding, attention should be paid to the four central links of 'breeding','breeding' and 'management'." Zhang Shouming told the author that he specially selected four high-quality sows from large farms for self-breeding, each of which was several thousand yuan. When he returned home, he made his own feed from corn, wheat husks and other crops, and adopted different feeding plans for different pigs. He analyzed that big pigs eat regularly, as long as they are fed twice a day, piglets do not eat much each time, they should eat less and eat more meals, and they should be fed three to four times a day.

He concluded that pig farming is mainly 75% management, plus 15% variety selection, plus 15% feed selection. He got up early and ate late, disinfected and epidemic prevention work for pigsty, and ran around.

Under the guidance of the local animal husbandry station, he was able to raise pigs with ease.

Wind and water start the cause development and drive the whole village

Zhang Shouming's pig farm made his life a little better, but at first it was not satisfactory.

In 2014, pork market is not good, Zhang Shouming chose to silently insist.

"Maybe God takes care of our poor families. Once the pig market develops, it will get better." Zhang Shouming told the author that since the first half of 2015, the price of pork has risen, reaching 7.5 yuan per catty, and by the second half of 2015, pork per catty can be sold to 9 yuan, such prices have not fallen this year, but tend to stabilize, which makes Zhang Shouming glad that he did not give up at the beginning.

At present, Zhang Shouming, a pig farm with an investment of more than 600,000 yuan, has begun to take shape.

He bred himself and sold piglets to nearby villagers for breeding development. This year alone, he sold more than 100 pigs and pigs each, with gross income of more than 300,000.

He set a goal of paying off all foreign debts of more than 200,000 yuan next year.

For the next step, he plans to breed more sows, sell them to nearby villagers, stabilize pork prices, and prepare to take everyone together to develop the pig industry. He was full of hope for the future.
