Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Li Liangping in Fengdu: give up his annual salary of more than 100,000 yuan and return to his hometown to become a "chicken commander"

A post-80s youth, a graduate of a famous university and a chief engineer of a construction company project, unexpectedly gave up his job with a monthly salary of more than 10,000 yuan and returned to his hometown of Liyuan Village, Xumingsi Town, Fengdu County to contract fish ponds and set up farms. At present, his farm already has 2 chicken houses nearly 4000 chickens, conservatively estimated that a batch of profits close to 80,000 yuan, become well-known "chicken commander", he is 35 years old Li Liangping.

Taking risks to start a business despite family objections

Li Liangping first met, dressed simply, approachable, conversation between people feel particularly cordial, at the same time without losing the key university top students talk and clear thinking. After graduating from Chongqing University in 2004, Li Liangping has been working in Yuechi County Electric Power Construction Corporation of Sichuan Province, during which he served as the chief engineer of the project (responsible for all technologies of a construction site and assisting in management), with a monthly salary of more than ten thousand yuan. However, when his career was on the rise, Li Liangping was not satisfied with the status quo, because in his heart, there had always been an idea. "I've always been thinking that I must return when I have the opportunity to contribute to my hometown."

Li Liangping already had an idea. He had long been optimistic about a pond near Group 1 of his hometown Liyuan Village, waiting for the time to contract this pond to develop the industry. "At that time, the government vigorously supported micro-enterprises, and they were not content to work for others all their lives." Li Liangping said that in July 2013, despite his parents 'opposition, Li Liangping, who had no experience and no skills, spent 30,000 yuan to contract the pond. Before that, he settled in the county town and bought social security for his unemployed parents, spending almost all his savings over the years.

In 2014, Li Liangping officially resigned and returned to Liyuan Village to buy fry to start aquaculture. At the same time, he borrowed 50,000 yuan from relatives and friends to raise 100 sheep. It was not until this time that his wife, who had been kept in the dark, knew that it was useless to object and had no choice but to support him.

In fact, Li Liangping did not know the risks that entrepreneurship might face, but he still firmly chose this path. "Since you have chosen this path, you must continue. If you still fail after eight to ten years, then it proves that you are not suitable for this. However, all failures in a short period of time are nothing." It is this spirit and courage that Li Liangping never gave up his original dream in the face of successive difficulties.

4000 chickens a year.

Perhaps it is really bad luck, when raising sheep, happened to encounter market fluctuations, mutton prices fell sharply, buy 18 yuan a catty sheep, sell only 7,8 yuan a catty, almost lost.

Despite this, Li Liangping was not discouraged. He said that no matter what line of work there will be risks, there is the possibility of failure, the key is to see whether you can persist, and he is never give up, brave to persist in the one.

With the help of geographical advantages, in September 2015, Li Liangping began to feed chickens again. With the lessons learned from raising sheep, he paid special attention this time, often learning technical experience from old farmers, large breeding households in surrounding districts and counties and experts from Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, as well as learning some breeding and disease prevention methods on the Internet. In order to save costs, when building chicken coops, greenhouses, guardrails and other supporting facilities, and cement, bricklaying and many other work he personally,"oneself can do it, saving is a good thing."

There was a time when the chickens in the greenhouse fought with each other and pecked each other's buttocks, causing many chickens to die, which bothered him very much. Only after inquiring around did I know that this was caused by too dense chicken seedlings, uneven greenhouse temperature, lack of vitamins and other reasons. Li Liangping, who found the crux, solved the problem in time, so that the survival rate of chicken seedlings was greatly improved.

At present, Li Liangping already has two chicken houses and raises nearly 4000 chickens. At present, he is building a third chicken house. Li Liangping is still very confident about the market and profits. He said,"Xumingsi Town is located at the junction of Fengdu County, Zhong County and Dianjiang County, so sales will certainly not worry." Now the profit from a chicken is almost $20.

Don't forget to drive villagers to become rich

Career gradually on the right track, Li Liangping did not forget his original intention to return home to start a business, he wanted to do something for his hometown, for dating people. His breeding base was on a mountain, but there was only one pedestrian path from the road to the base. Moreover, it was in disrepair and potholes. It was especially difficult to walk. On rainy days, half of his shoes would sink in. So he negotiated with the surrounding villagers and took out 50,000 yuan to widen and thicken the road of one kilometer, so that the car could drive directly to the breeding base, and the surrounding villagers could walk less bad roads. "Thanks to him, this road is finally open. It's much easier for us to buy and sell." Xu Denghong smiled and said.

Chicken needs a lot of feed. Although the price purchased outside may be cheaper, Li Liangping always gives priority to buying corn and rice from villagers at a price five cents or even ten cents higher than the market price per catty, especially some poor farmers. Li Liangping always takes care of them as much as possible. The villagers said,"He's a real man. Everyone is willing to sell food to him."

Today's Li Liangping, while doing his own breeding business, while also serving as a member of Liyuan Village Committee, always feel that time is not enough. He said he was thinking of hiring several poor farmers to help manage his base, freeing up more time for himself and increasing their income.
